Why does Formula One get so much post race coverage?
I don't mind as I like all the extras but the race finished almost an hour and a half ago and the show is still going, the guys are still talking, yet any other sport is off the air about 10 minutes after the result is called.
I'd love boxing shows to carry on a couple hours after the fight result, going backstage and getting of lots of postfight analysis but it never happens, yet FormulaOne, despite being on BBC 1 where time and space is at an absolute premium gets the kind of extended coverage usually reserved for general elections.
It's bizarre really, although anything on BBC that isn't Eastenders is a positive thing of course.

More to the point why does F1 still serve up the dross it did today where pretty much the entire 78laps was just a precesion.
Brawn ran away with it last year and now red bull are doing exactly the same. Not being able to fuel up in the pits has just made the sport 3times duller than it already was. You can now feasibly get out infront and just drive the car home rather than having to worry about tactics

The best thing they could do for the entertainment factor would be to grade the drivers like in Stock car racing and have the best start at the back. So much more fun if the big guns had to charge through the field each race.

Theres plenty of ways you can make the sport interesting without blatantly giving out handicaps
- Cap the funds for each and every team
- Limit the number of cars and engines a team can use over a season
- Allow cars at the back of the gird to fuel up as they so please and not have this stupid rule thats currently there
- Limit the drivers to a certain amount of tyres they can use over a weekend

Yeah, something needs to be done. Yesterdays race was boring as hell.
You just can't overtake at Monaco, it's a dull circuit. I fell asleep straight after yesterdays race. That bad.

This is no lie, I fell asleep as they were doing the parade lap, and woke up after they had interviewed the podium finishers! I missed the entire race, but somehow with Formula one that doesn't matter, I didn't feel like I had missed anything.

most f1 race are boring now. gone are the senna prost mansell characters of f1. or the guts of gilles villeneuve. f1 here are still good due to we have the motorsport history. but we miss suzuka circuit.. fuji circuit sucks. the regular f1 program here takes about 4 hours including the race. maybe bcoz it has lots of commercial rights involve.

To be fair it still has its characters
Hamiltons an out and out risk taker on the track and is always looking to overtake. Alonso is the clean cut driver out there who can make the hardest of corners look easy, buttons the strategic genius who knows when to pit and make haste of a half chance.
Its not the drivers fault its so damn boring at the mo, its the morons at the top who are trying to make this sport as elitist as possible because they are so desperate to see a ferrari world champion once again
Re: Why does Formula One get so much post race coverage?
Good thing for the F1 fans is: Montreal is back and it has one of the most exciting circuit (and I am not saying it to boost my hometown, the circuit is just great). However, seeing how Bernie runs the whole plot and how many important players just left because it was getting impossible cost wise, I think it is clearly ready for some major changes.
Personally though, I don't like Formula and car races at all, it makes tons of pollution and I don't see the point or excitement of hearing tons of noises and tires burn. Nascar is even worst, cars turning in circle and nothing happen except accidents sometimes...
Re: Why does Formula One get so much post race coverage?
What is the rule now in F1 Hammer with Gas? If they eliminated fuel strategy that just sounds idiotic???

They already have as of this season
All teams are required to fuel up before the start of the race. In previous years its been all about tactics ie:fueling heavy to go longer into the race without pitting, or going light so you can get a jumpstart at the start over your opponents.
Idiotically thats now been scrapped and all teams are required to fuel up the car for the entire race from the word go :mad::mad:
