'A Fighter's Heart' - Sam Sheridan
Just bought this book and read it on holiday. Thought I'd take the time to highly recommend it to anyone on this forum.
The guy is a writer, who has had a series of unusual jobs around the world, but who has always been drawn into the world of fighting. He spent time training in Muay Thai in Thailand and uses the book to travel the world actually training in various different types of combat (he trains with Andre Ward in boxing, Brazilian Ju Jitsu, Muay Thai again, he meditates with Buddhist monks, and a whole pile of other stuff)
The book is very well written, and he comes across as a sympathetic writer (and something of a real fighter too), giving due respect to the people he trains with and the styles they use while also comparing them all in an even handed way.
Highly recommended book.

Will certainly be looking in to this for my beach reading this year. Nice one X.
Re: 'A Fighter's Heart' - Sam Sheridan
He has written a book since X, Amazon.com: The Fighter's Mind: Inside the Mental Game (9780802119353): Sam Sheridan: Books
I haven't read it yet but I saw it at the bookstore I think I will try to pick this up. Just a heads up, he's a very talented writer.
