Re: Is Israel Vasquez shot ?
His heart may be in it, he may even not be as physically shot as we think. But that scar tissue around his eyes can't take punches anymore, he'll be a bleeder early and a bleeder often and it really will effect him. He needs to hang them up, those cuts were just gross and it was just the first round.
Re: Is Israel Vasquez shot ?
I don't know if Vasquez is shot but after so many great wars and so much punishment, I would definitely like to see him call it a day. The guy will go down in the annex of boxing as one of the great warriors and fierce exciting fighter. Not sure if he'll call it a day or if he'll look for a win to finish his career but the exit door should be the priority.
Re: Is Israel Vasquez shot ?
He may still have a bit left but his skin has too miuch scar tissue and he will be a high risk to tko by cuts. He should hang them up.
Re: Is Israel Vasquez shot ?
The fourth fight should not have happened...especially considering how bad Vasquez's eye looked even before the fight started. Hopefully pride and money don't persuade him to fight again. He is one of my favorite fighters...a great warrior...but he is now risking permanent eye damage if he continues to fight.

Re: Is Israel Vasquez shot ?
The simple answer is a defo YES....my 3 year old's tear could cut this guy.......well so could my wife's cooking...lol
Job Biscuit (That was a terrible cut)!!!
eh eh!!
Re: Is Israel Vasquez shot ?
He still has all the tools to be a quality fighter, but the eyes just won't hold up anymore. I thought he looked a bit weird in the photos prior to the fight, but wasn't fully aware of just how problematic it would be. Way too easy to cut him and the cuts aren't the smallest!
Re: Is Israel Vasquez shot ?
I have not seen the fight but the cut was probably too soon from the warm up so you cannot tell. He needs to get the injury fixed but his skills were brilliant at his best. Loved his jab, it broke down opponents.

I didn't see his tune up fight before Marquez but I heard he didn't look very good.
Boy that was a disapointing fight last night, I picked Marquez to win, but it was kinda shady of him to target the cuts like that and headbutt Vasquez to open em up more.
I'd like to see Vasquez rest and let those cuts heal properly then get back in the ring and see if he's still got it.
I think too much time off after a brutal series like the first 3 fights added with little to zero gym time to keep him sharp due to surgeries cuts etc have taken a toll on him....More evident with the little guys more then we see with the bigger ones because they rely so much on speed......I hope maybe it was just ring rust or something and maybe he should have taken a few come back bouts before stepping in again with Marquez...
