Lineker got 10 goals in 2 world cups, that is what I call being proven at the highest level. Let's hope Rooney can do something similar!

i would say Lineker but our current squad seems pretty guttless so we need rooney

Lineker was a world class goal poacher.
Owen scored a world class goal in 1998.
Rooney the best we got now, he could leave a good legacy for this and the next world cup. I keep Rooney.

As a City fan, hatred aside, i'd say no. Rooney is better imo.

Lineker and Owen pure goal poachers who needed the supply. Rooney isn't that type of player. He creates, scores and holds the ball so well.

Imagine a young Owen alongside him....

Yeh, but the side is built around him being a goal scorer! Where else are the goals coming from? Heskey? ;D
