Rank the junior middleweight division.
To me, it's a pretty deep division, but difficult to rank.
- Sergio Martinez/Paul Williams
- Paul Williams/Sergio Martinez
- Sergiy Dzinziruk
- James Kirkland (assuming he is back in the fall)
- Corey Spinks
- Alfredo Angulo (i think he stops Miguel and Cintron, and a fight w/Dzinziruk is a toss up, but I know I rank him higher than most)
- Miguel Cotto
- Kermit Cintron
- Vanes Martirosyan
- Yuri Foreman
Re: Rank the junior middleweight division.
Even assuming he does come back in a few months don't see how you can rank Kirkland so high...
Cotto a 3 division champion regardless of his 2 stoppage losses....
Cintron a former champion that can bang as hard as Kirkland...
Vanes Martirosyan has fought better comp and is over all a better boxer...
Yuri Foreman is certainly a better boxer....
The best name on Kirkland's resume is Joel Julio......Who has been mnover hyped all along
Kirkland is a good prospect and Anne Wolf was helping improve on some things but all he has is power really at this point...He is easy to hit and most of these vets in the division would eat him up defensively...James gets hit waaay to easily and power will carry you only so far once you hit the truly elite it really is only an added bonus if you possess it without the rest of the tools it is no more then a lottery ticket you hope you can cash in on
Re: Rank the junior middleweight division.

Bad news... Kirkland weighs in at 200+ lbs as of last month. I wouldn't be counting your chickens.
And Martinez is the champ for sure. He beats PWill in the rematch.
Martirosyen doesn't make my list because he was piss poor in his previous fight versus Ouma, which I thought he lost. Even if he didn't lose, the judges weren't even close. He's gonna get flattened by upper level guys if he doesn't learn some defense.
- Sergio Martinez
- Paul Williams
- Alfredo Angulo
- Miguel Cotto (Cotto will move back down to WW I am pretty sure...)
- Margarito :(
- Joachime Alcine
- Sergiy Dzinziruk (I never actually seen him fight, but his wins look solid)
- Kermit Cintron
- Yuri Foreman
- Saul Alvarez
You know this list was harder than I thought it was going to be! What a packed division
Re: Rank the junior middleweight division.
How do people have Cintron below Angulo? That's not really fair.
1. Williams
2. Martinez
3. Sergei
4. Cotto
5. Foreman
6. Cintron
7. Spinks
8. Angulo
9. Vanes
10. Powell
Re: Rank the junior middleweight division.
- Sergio Martinez/Paul Williams (Obvious reasons)
- Paul Williams/Sergio Martinez (Obvious reasons)
- Sergiy Dzinziruk (he's the longest reigning champion at the weight and has Santos, Julio, and looked impressive his last time out)
- Miguel Cotto (looked impressive in his only fight at the weight and now is a 3 weight champ)
- Corey Spinks (IMO the weakest of the title holders, but still has the skills to give anyone trouble, and able to outbox a few)
- Kermit Cintron (he looked as if he was coming on in the final round of his fight with Williams, he already has a DOMINANT win over Angulo)
- James Kirkland (out for too long, only real win of not was against Julio, and is a bit one dimensional)
- Alfredo Angulo (can easily be outboxed, has good power and a solid chin but apart from that doesn't offer much more)
- Vanes Martirosyan (too green, gets hit way too often, and tends to take parts of rounds off)
- Yuri Foreman (his career is in question now with the knee injury, but IMO he'd hold his own against most of the fighters on this list, and i'd pick him over Vanes, Angulo, Kirkland, and even Spinks)
