Thought I'd Inroduce Gary Russell Jnr for those who like the lower weights.....
Guys, after putting up that article link about Benavidez I just wanted to follow it up with another of my favourite favourite prospects. I read about this guy a real while back before he turned pro. Now he's pro and going pretty damn well. We had him on the OtG Radio last week and he's a real humble guy and most definately has all the tools....... He is actually featured on a card that I added to the File Sharing section that was an FNF midweek broadcast from two weeks ago. Defo worth a watch to anyone interested in prospects as it also has jamie Kavanagh on, who is a tremendous prospect fighting out of the Wild Card.
OtG Prospect: Introducing Gary Russell Jr
Re: Thought I'd Inroduce Gary Russell Jnr for those who like the lower weights.....
Yeah, Gary should be something to pay attention to in the pros. A real strong amateur background. I think his brother is still in the amateurs. Not sure. But Gary missed the Olympic try due to dehydration and passed out. He was expected to medal. Hopefully he will make some noise as a pro.

I been watching Russell for awhile. He comes from a Boxing family. He and his 3 brothers all box. I'm expecting big things from him

Good hands, loads up a bit.Didn't he have a tough scrap last outting,on the deck??
Re: Thought I'd Inroduce Gary Russell Jnr for those who like the lower weights.....
Nah, no tough outing Spicoli. Blazed through the guy........
Russell was on our boxing show last week and he spoke about missing the olympics and having to go home. You could tell that was still even now a sore point and the disappointment he still holds for that moment. Sounded a little like a haunted soul, but hopefully he'll keep kickin on and move on from that...

My bad, clearly the short term memory is on it's way out ha.Can't place the name of the guy I'm thinking of?Thanks for the info...no doubt Russell needs to put it behind him, don't spend all that energy focused on an asterisk, though a huge disapointment missing out. It's all in front of him now as a pro.
