defence against right cross

I was wondering what the best defence is against the right cross,Is it best to simply slip the punch to the outside or roll under and step out to youre left?

I've found that shoulding rolling while pivoting to my left off the front foot works for me. The pivot away does take away the oppurtunity of an immediate counter with my own right hand but Ive found that you also force your opponent off balance and set yourself a nice angle to launch an attack. I like to pivot away then double jab to the head straight right to their exposed right rib cage. If you also time it right and pivot away while still keeping yourself in range you can batter them with right hooks as they are in a perfect position for you to hit them without being hit and you can even turn them with your left hand should they regain balance. The problem is that you can find yourself defending their right hand but not immediately countering back because your out of harms way which does not act as a detterent for them and they can bait you into making that move and actually catch you in a position where they can hit you but you cannot hit them because your back is slightly turned and your line of attack is to their left and off target.
