So there are tons of places on my list but I've been itching to go to New Zealand, from what I've seen its really fucking beautiful.
But then I was watching the travel channel last night (which is sad in its own way) and this came up,
Welcome to Petit St. Vincent Resort | A Private Island Resort in the Caribbean
this little 100 acre island in the Caribbean that is nothing but a resort. There's only 22 cottages spread out along the island and there are no phones, no TV's, there's not even a phone to order food, you just raise a flag and leave a note and the staff comes by and gets it and brings you your stuff. I would like to spend a month there. Its like 600- thousand dollars a night :(
Don't mind me I'm just fucking bored and sick of doing the same fucking thing every day. Maybe we should invade the Amir Khan forum
As an American you're pretty lucky in that there's so many cool places to visit in your own country. I consider myself pretty well travelled and I'm lucky enough to have been to some pretty fuckin awesome places yet the only places left that I really want to see are Stateside. Maybe to an American seeing more of America isn't exactly adventurous but it's definitely something I want to do.
I totally understand the appeal of some remote island retreat but It's not something I'd personally pay $600 a night for. That kind of money could go sooo much further in say SE Asia (such as Thailand) or South America...

Lived most of my life in Canada, 2 years in France, almost 5 in Luxembourg and if things continue to work for me, I might buy a house in Germany within a few years or if I must go with the B plan, spend some years in Viet-Nam. I don't know about your job or financial situation but why not take a visa and go live in another country for a few months/years? I normally come back 6 weeks per year in Quebec, which are always some fantastic quality time with friends and family happy to see me and almost all in vacation. Perhaps a little change like that could do the trick for you.

That appeals to me right now, I guess its a state of mind thing. I'd like the peace and quiet. I guess since right now I don't have the money to do it regardless I'm not too worried about the price.
I am thinking of setting my mind to winning the lottery. I'm already sick of paying student loans.
Re: Where do you want to go?
And there are still plenty of places I wouldn't mind seeing in the US. But I guess its not on the top of my list.
Re: Where do you want to go?
South America. I'll stick to watching South American films until i can afford it.

I spent 5 months travelling South America in 2007. I started off in Argentina and moved my way north up to Colombia. Finished off in Medellin then flew home via Vegas for a week to see Hatton KO Castillo!
Hands down the best 5 months of my life!
Re: Where do you want to go?
Sth Africa, I leave in 15 days.
Re: Where do you want to go?
I want to go home for a good old rest and I will be doing so in just under 3 weeks. Today is another day well into the 30's and the nights are beginning to get far too sticky. Need to get out of this furnace before I start another political thread.
Re: Where do you want to go?
Cool thread :)
I'd like to go to Mexico, Brazil and Canada. Most probably ion that order too.:)
Re: Where do you want to go?

Nice.
Who did you go there with mate?
Re: Where do you want to go?
I'm trying to find a cheap location to do a bit of backpacking in when I am (finally) done school at the end of August. I'm thinking of either India or Vietnam at the moment (and leaning towards India). If money was no option, I would love to travel through the United States, it's such an interesting place. Europe would be a close 2nd.
Re: Where do you want to go?
I have no good reasoning behind this at all but for some reason I've never been that interested in going to India. Vietnam I would like to see though. Thailand as well.

Me and my two best mates, absolute quality.
I still bore people to death talking about it to this day and probably for years to come. As a continent South America has sooo much more to offer than somewhere like Asia. You could spend months and months in Argentina alone. We spent most of our time in Bolivia surprisingly, probably 6 weeks in total.
The entire trip cost me £5000 all in but the £ was reallly strong then. It could still be done for a lot less if you budgeted like the Israeli backpackers but we just treated it like a lads holiday and ate out every night and got wankered.
And if you're in to that kind of thing Colombia's finest export was as little as $5 a gram! ;D:-X
