New double end bag ideas.. (maybe)
Hey guys,
I have some new ideas on how to use the double end bag.. well I'm sure they're not new, but they are to me.. dont know if anyone has tried it.. Please feel free to let me know if the ideas make no sense.. I'm just starting out and to be quite frank, barely have any idea what I'm doing.
.. so i started started off on the double end bags, and quickly got adjusted to the various bag sizes and speeds at the gym.. To make it more challenging I started hitting them with my dominant eye closed. Once I was able to do that consistently... I started to look away from the bag and hitting it. I can now pretty much do that with almost no problem... I'm going to start with my eyes completely closed after.
BUT I realize that I'm just picking up on my own punching patterns and becoming accustomed to the timing.. thats why it's not challenging me as much anymore.
(idea 1)
So I figured I start working with a partner.. Stand on opposite sides of the bag, and take turns hitting it back and forth, attempting to increase the number of accurate punches landed each round. That way you cant just figure out your own pattern and follow it as easily (dont know if that made any sense)
(idea 2)
again get a partner to stand on one side of the bag, while you stand in range of the bag. Have him punch it throughout the round, as you slip or block the bag from hitting your face. At the end of each round.. switch.
... anyways I'm sure these techniques have probably been used by tons of ppl already, but do they make sense to you guys?

Sounds good to me, but dont look away from the Bag bad habit. Ive got a top and bottom ball its 3", great fun and you have to be accurate.

Thanks yet again scrap... would you suggest closing eyes instead? to promote touch and feel and timing.

Not just yet work on the Technique first

Read this on my way out for training, but I didn't have a chance to reply.
... I took your advice and did not look away from the bag nor did I shut my eyes today :)
By the way do people here normally keep gloves on while they hit the floor to ceiling bag or just hand wraps?
I tend to do a little bit of both, don't know if I'm doing anything wrong by doing that though.
