Where is everyone on this board?!
This board has become a ghost town!
Re: Where is everyone on this board?!
Dunno for the others but I am rushing to finish my PHD and I went 10 days to Copenhagen, Stockholm and Gothenburg. Leaving back home for Montreal in about 9 days, should still post here and here but my friends kind of figured out my summer for me so I might not be the most active on the board for that period. I know Miles and Andre are on vacation too and I guess it's the same for a couple of others which might very well explain why it's slower than usual.
Re: Where is everyone on this board?!
doesn't seem to be just this board last few weeks - think it normally goes quiet around nowis (summer time)

I could be wrong, but I think he's doing it in philosophy.
I'm actually trying to figure out if I should go to grad school myself at the moment...

100 points for CFH, philosophy that is (political one for the interested). What kind of grad are you interested in making btw? Mine is almost over, should write 10-15 more pages to sweeten the whole and make a last round of correction and It's over, finally:)

Visual anthropology, most specifically ethnographic film.

Sounds good, you would enlist to Simon Fraser or UBC? By the way, just come back from the Pogues, it was friggin good, Shane was loaded (without surprise) but far from the train wreck, staggering a bit but making funny jokes and was almost fully audible, they started with Stream of Whiskey and if I should fall from God with Grace, a damn intense and good show which they did close playing Fiesta.

Between those two schools I would prefer UBC, they have their own ethnographic film unit and their anthropology department is very well-regarded. However, I might consider staying at UVic as well, as I know the professor very well and she understands how I work, what my motivations are etc.
The Pogues were terrible when I saw them, but I loved it anyways. I couldn't understand a word Shane said and it was a train wreck for most of the show. I'd still go see them again in an instant though. They always play pretty much the same setlist, so I bet we heard the same songs.

Don't be jealous Mick. If you'd come on here more often I wouldn't have to look elsewhere for my tail.
