How would the following do in the Super Six?
If you put any of these fighters in (preferably in the place of Allan Green) how would they do?
Roy Jones Jr.
James Toney
Joe Calzaghe
Steve Collins
Nigel Benn
Chris Eubank
Bernard Hopkins
Svenn Ottke (remember he'd have to fight outside of Germany)
Lucian Bute
This is pure speculation but in response to the Kelly Pavlik thread I figured I would cover the rest of the bases.
Re: How would the following do in the Super Six?
roy jones jr. and joe calzaghe would be the finalists with roy jones jr. the winner. that is of course if jones jr. is in his prime!
Re: How would the following do in the Super Six?
Toney, Hopkins, and Jones would end up the final 3, Jones would be in the finals and it would be Toney Vs Hopkins, IMO Hopkins would counter Toney all night and win a UD, then Jones would outbox Hopkins again for a Majority Decision
Re: How would the following do in the Super Six?
ottke would be destroyed as soon as he stepped out of germany.
Anyone of the other names mentioned would, in their, prime win the whole contest fairly easily.

If you had: Abraham, Kessler, Dirrell, Ward, Froch, and one of the boxers from the list I made what would be the out come?
Its actually quite difficult to answer because the bunch that are fighting now arent that bad, they all have qualities that could make the list of names look bad.
On recent evidence the only one id be comfortable that could win the whole tournament is Calzaghe and tahts because we have seen him in with a prime Kessler.
All the others could win, id give Collins the least chance though.
Re: How would the following do in the Super Six?
Jones Jnr would clean up.
Jones Jnr vs Carl Froch would of been fun to watch.
But Arthur Abraham would probably stick him in his crotch ;D
Re: How would the following do in the Super Six?
Roy Jones Jr.
James Toney
Joe Calzaghe
Could have won the tournament the others may have lost a couple of fights against certain fighters.

Agree with this but I'd add Hopkins to the list, can't see any of them beating Hop, Ward would have the best chance but I think Bernard takes him

In a fair fight Ottke gets demolished by everyone maybe even Allan Green
Eubank I think would have had the most trouble with dirrells movement and maybe Wards spoiling but I honestly see him being able to beat all of them and I think hed get a spectacular KO over Abraham and have a good scrap with Froch. The thing with Eubank was the harder you fought him, the harder he fought back.
Eubank always fought to the level of the competition but with each fight being important here, this would have got the best out of him and not the lazy plodder that often just did enough for the win.
Youd get the version that fought Benn and Watson, the intense determined to beat his opponent version. Also with Eubank, travelling never bothered him. He beat an undefeated Graciano Rocchigiani in Germany.
Benn and Abraham would also have been good.
Hopkins or Toney against ward would have been boring.

Yea i agree about Eubank... I think he would of had trouble with ANYONE with an exceptional skill set. So in this case it would probably be the likes or Ward & Dirrell to give him a heartattack... Other than that, I think he'd always find a way to win.
But I think Toney vs Ward would be an absolute dream match up... Kinda like Hopkins vs Toney without all the possible negativity

I think Toney v Ward would be dull, Ward holds alot and Toney is a counterpuncher. Toney against Kessler would have been quite exciting. kessler is the only one out of the current lot that isnt really defensive or a counter puncher. The only others that would be considered agressive are Froch and Abraham but neither would really press the pace they both need their opponent to do that.
