So Pascal Dawson this week-end
As I am back in Montreal for a little month with my old buddies and my family, I sure couldn't resist the temptation to go see a good fight, especially as I haven't been to a live fight in ages. I don't remember the last time a foreign opponent of the quality of Bad Chad came to Montreal, should be a good evening even if there shouldn't be more than 11 000 peeps at the Bell Center when in a better month than august they could have gathered around 15000 in there. I will tell you my impressions of that fight once I am back from there but the more I think about it, the more I think it could be exciting with Chad being too much for Jean Pascal, let's see.
What are your pick on the fight and how do you see it unfold?

I like both fighters i think Jean Pascal has improved quite a bit, and he's had a nice little win streak. But i think Chad Dawson's more technical and smarter boxing will be the key. Jean Pascal is good athletically but he often relies on that much, and i can see Chad Dawson catching him alot with the jab, but i don't think it will be an easy fight. Jean Pascal will have his moments, but Chad Dawson in the end should win something like 116-112 maybe a tad closer.

I'm going to pick Jean Pascal. I see the fight unfolding like an origami octopus.
Re: So Pascal Dawson this week-end
I'll say dawson.....fighting up there at rip off central, he'll know the pitter patter take middle rounds off for a desicion won't cut it. He'll step up and we'll wonder why he didn't before. Just my guess.
Re: So Pascal Dawson this week-end
I wasn't the biggest fan of Jean Pascal, but in the last year he change is attitude inside and outside the ring and thats great. But i think that Dawson is a bit too much for him. He needs to put a lot of pressure and try hit Dawson with a large left hook! If he puts enough pressure he might have a good chance of winning a decision in Montreal.
Re: So Pascal Dawson this week-end
Clear UD for BCD...
All night long baby, busting that ass.
Re: So Pascal Dawson this week-end
Yeah I see Dawson winning comfortably. Unfortunately I won't get to see the fight on HBO even thou I have a subscription. Whenever a Canadian fighter fights on HBO or ESPN they block the rights to the telecast and sell it on PPV. Total f-en BS. I'll have to wait a month or so to watch the replay on TSN.
Does this happen elsewhere in Canada? I'm assuming so.
Re: So Pascal Dawson this week-end
I'm super excited for this fight, and the Ward-Dirrell one next week.
Unfortunately for Pascal, he is a lot smaller, he has very short arms against a better athlete who is also far more technical.
We have seen Dawson really evolve defensively along with his offense. It would be nice to see him stay consistent like he did against Johnson, but we will see. When Chad is doing his thing, he is absolutely one of the very best in the world, but when he covers up it is really frustrating.

Really? I don't have HBO, but I've never heard of that happening here in B.C., though that doesn't mean much as nobody here gives two shits about the sport. Where do you live? I could see that being the case in Quebec, especially when there's a French fighter involved.
Re: So Pascal Dawson this week-end
I think it's going to be an exciting fight, but Pascal is going to be outclassed and I expect Dawson to win a wide UD.

Yeah I have HBO and it's not on the guide. Also I still haven't seen the Bradley fight from last month becasue Alcine fought on the undercard so they pulled the rights. I even called HBO Canada and they said somebody (most likely a french TV provider like RS) bought the rights. It's pretty stupid if you ask me.

That's absurd. The fights are the only reason I would ever consider paying for HBO.
What part of the country do you live in? I wonder if their policy varies by region...
Re: So Pascal Dawson this week-end
Hopefully we can get a stoppage from Bad Chad but most likely a UD.
Re: So Pascal Dawson this week-end
Pascal is the pressure fighter, Dawson is the boxer.... I think Dawson does a number on him, he takes him to school and probably stops him late. Dawson has faster hands and better defense....easy fight for him. I think Cloud is MUCH better than Pascal

Ward Dirrell is off no venue and they both haven't even been in camp.
