So My Boy Chad Dawson...........

Got outclassed it looks like ? i didn't watch the fight. I can't watch the big fights anymore because there on too late and i have to be up early.

But im quite shocked i thought it would be a close fight, because Jean Pascal has improved and i've enjoyed watching him fight especially in the 2nd Adrian Diaconu fight.

But im quite shocked to see Chad Dawson lost that widely ? im fan of both fighters but im more of a fan of Chad Dawson, so i am a bit disappointed. But i still like Jean Pascal and wish him the best.

So whats next for Chad Dawson ? can he win a rematch ? and Lucian Bute vs Jean Pascal a fight i've been waiting to see for quite awhile, looks more and more like a great fight now.

In my eyes he lost a majority of the rounds, although to his credit he did manage to hurt Pascal a few times, but for some reason didn't capitalize on it. I think he can take it in a rematch.

BTW Kirkland Laing doesn't like people using the word "boy." You've been warned.:p

IMO this was a case of the better fighter giving away the fight, Dawson waited on Pascal too much, and when he would let loose he controlled the fight, in a rematch i'd pick Dawson by 7th round TKO

Sure, after scanning the data and applying all I know about boxing, I did pick Pascal to win. Still, a few weeks before I picked Alcine to shine...

I picked Pascal because Dawson looked in his last 2 fights like he was happy just doing enough to win rather doing what he is capable of but last night I don't know what was up with him...It was more then a shoulder as was being talked about.....

I pick him in a rematch as well

pascal's win over dawson was impressive to say the least but i've got a sneaky feeling dawson takes him by late TKO in the rematch.

pascal has one of the most solid chins in boxing

2-3 occasions between the rounds 9-11 dawson came on with huge flurrys containing monster shots and pascal looked ready to go, heck even the ref was intentionally standing ready to jump in and stop it the moment pascal became unable to defend himself

dawson doesnt essentially need to alter anything right now, just get the rematch and next time around dont allow pascal to dominate like he did early doors

Pascal just wanted it more. Pascal out worked Dawson in the early rounds. Dawson showed up with a half-hearted effort. Even though he started to outclass Pascal in the 11th round, in terms of stamina, Pascal deserved to get the win. Had they completed the fight, and if Pascal was still standing, Dawson would have still most likely still lost on points.

In a rematch, I'd think Dawson's would have some of the fire he lacked in this fight. I wouldn't expect Pascal to last beyond the 8th round unless he found a better way to get inside on Dawson than using that rushing 'technique'. I'm guessing Dawson didn't prepare for it and it probably threw him off in the early rounds.

It happens from time to time. And Not only with fighters but with everyone. In general people seem to respond better to a fighter when he accepts that it was his fault and not make any excuses for the loss.

I finally watched the fight and I must agree. A top 5 p4p guy isn't supposed to let the Pascal's of the world get off the way he was able to. I'm a fan of Bad Chad and it was painful to watch Chad let Pascal fight in spurts and then run away over and over again. Maybe it was because Pascal's punching power shocked Dawson? I'm not sure. Either way, top 5 p4p fighters shouldn't let that happen. Chad should have been classier in defeat as well. Doesn't Pascal's win make Diaconu look good?

And this must eliminate Dawson from p4p contention for a while. The reason is that twice we've seen him beat or almost beat against guys that we all agree with Dawson's talent/skill, he should beat. Against Johnson, the first time around, and now against Pascal. He shouldn't have lost either fight, but both times, for some reason, mental lapses probably, he almost lost or lost. Even if you're a fan of Dawson's who believes that he would win a rematch with Pascal, and even if he does, he shouldn't top the p4p lists for a while with those consistent mental lapses.
