Where is Guillermo Rigondeaux's passion?
I just watched his last fight, and like all his other pro fights, he completely dominate the guy he is facing, but he never steps on the peddle. It seems like he is falling asleep in there. He barely through his left hand, but it completely battered his opponent when he did, and you would suspect he could land it at will if he wanted to. I just hope he doesn't fight like this when he faces true competition, but I've heard his training and everything has been like this lately.
Re: Where is Guillermo Rigondeaux's passion?
i think he can beat any super bantams right now, including all the world champions. celestino caballero would give him the most trouble because of his height but i still think he beats him. i would love to see guillermo go up to featherweight to face the likes of gamboa, juanma lopez, chris john etc...this guy is so fast and talented, it boggles the imagination what he's capable of doing!
Re: Where is Guillermo Rigondeaux's passion?
I think Rigondeaux will pick up a vacant title. But that's about it

Because of how he is being moved along or his motivation? Because talent and skillwise he is by the best little man in the sport, but he will need to step up his game.
Re: Where is Guillermo Rigondeaux's passion?
I said this months ago when you started saying that this guy was better than Pacquiao and would surpass him because Roach said he was the best prospect he had and I said we would have to wait awhile before making those type of statements, because in my eyes he is still unproven.
Re: Where is Guillermo Rigondeaux's passion?
Being better than Pacquiao I guess I ment it literally, and not in terms of stature or p4p ranking. Manny has had the benefit of an entire career as a pro, and great opposition. While Rigondeaux while neither have the years or HOF guys to compete against to prove himself. Which makes it nigh-impossible for him to ever surpass Pacquiao.
Re: Where is Guillermo Rigondeaux's passion?
I have to admit i may be trippin here...but i really don't see what everyone see's in these guys. I don't think any of them are crap but no where as great as they are touted to be....as far as rigondeaux he shows no passion cause he doesn't need any against the people he faced. He goes in wins and goes home. He's been fighting a long long time, he's able to go in and totally dominate these guys with little effort and risk...putting a win in his pocket and very little wear and tear on his own body. Smart actually...by the praise he gets for what he's already doing no need to go in and ko everyone in the first round. Save it for when you need it.
Re: Where is Guillermo Rigondeaux's passion?
Rigondeaux is gonna rot on the vine. By that I mean his skills are going to drop due to the level of the garbage he's fighting. All the talent in the world doesn't matter if you don't keep those tools sharp.

Motivation. I don't he's into it 100%. He wins cuz he's an outstanding talent. But I wouldn't be surprised if he might already be tired of the sport
