Paul Smith v Darren Mcdermot off Mcdermott has brain surgery!!

Wow, I was just reading only about 10 days ago he was sparring Cleverly and Frankie Gavin preparing for his title shot v Paul Smith in a few weeks, but apparently he has had brain surgery and part of his skull removed, sad news not to sure of other details yet such as will he make a full recovery or what, I will try keep you updated.

Aw man was looking forward to this as Smith is my favourite British boxer but sad news if true about the surgery, hope he gets well soon.

Hi people,

I just thought that i would let you know that Macca underwent brain surgery on Saturday night and had piece of his skull removed - i wont go into details as i dont think thats fair on him or his family but it goes without saying that he will never box again. As a close friend of Darrens i am happy to say that he is now out of the critical ward and is doing well.

I would like to wish him all the best in what is no doubt the biggest fight of his life but one i know he will win!!!!
