Re: privacy laws (hatton)
that was a massive rant but it was that bird who stitched him up wasnt it
still, there shouild be some law against that
Re: privacy laws (hatton)
Yeah I completely agree. I HATE the news of the world with a passion they are the cunts of all cunts imo, just trying to look for scandals to drag famous people down so they can sell the story to line their pockets.
Even worse, when they have no scandal they will send that scum guy in to dress up as an Arab and try and entrap someone into doing something they can report on.
I wish the whole shitty paper would be forced to disband and all of its journalists and editorial team got sent to prison.
These tabloid papers are one of the things that annoy me more than anything on earth, I would never buy a copy of their smut comics.
I hate the way they set themselves up as the bastions of moral values whilst filling their paper with tits and sensationalist sleaze.
If I was a celebrity I would have nothing to do with tabloid press whatsoever, no interviews ever, no contact at all.
I feel sorry for Ricky being sold out that like that, but I lost all respect for him when instead of telling them to get fucked he actually goes over to them and gives them an exclusive interview. How embarrassing!!!
He's basically a media whore who will prostitute himself for good publicity. He sends his parents in front of the tv cameras to publicly weep on his behalf, theatrically checks himself to the Priory and then gives his own exclusive.
Fuck News of the World, and fuck Ricky Hatton for sleeping with them.
Re: privacy laws (hatton)
how the hell these constantly manage to full under any entrapment laws is completely beyond me. Once again they prey on somebody famous`s negligence that gets the whole SHOCK HORROR fan fare with it.
Although i semi agree with what baggins is piping on about, ricky was pretty much backed into a corner here and didnt have too many cards to play with. If he`d of gone all quiet on the subject he would of let down a hell of a lot of people and done himself no favours whatsoever. By coming out and admitting he got caught with his trousers down he once again maintains his dignity as a standout individual who made an error
Hope for rickys sake the boxing public is forgiving enough to allow his promotions and celebrity status to flourish
Re: privacy laws (hatton)
If you're out in the public place, you can legally be filmed. Thats how the paparazzi get away with filming celebs on the street. It wasn't Ricky's hotel room, it was booked by the woman, so she can legally film him I'm pretty sure.

Well IMO you should say "fuck society" first, because these media scum are just giving the people what they want to see/hear. Its a sad commentary on the human race.

Oh believe me I've done that too. :p
But on a serious note Ricky Hatton is a joke. He gets ratted out by the News of the World and so does an exlusive interview with them, introducing it in that video with the most nauseous line 'Hi I'm Ricky Hatton and I've been binge drinking. Join me in my toughest fight of my life bla bla....'
That seriously makes me want to puke, he's just turned his personal crisis' into a bit of media drama and no doubt got paid handsomely for his interview.
Plus, taking cocaine and drinking is the toughest fight of his life? Poor Ricky it's so tough, having to say no drinking 10 pints of Guiness and snorting 7 lines of coke a day. How will you ever find the willpower to say no to that.

He's as guilty as the News of the World in selling this kind of sleaze shit imo. He's basically not only condoned what they do, but bought into it and is selling the story of his personal crisis to them, presumably for a quick buck or an image fix to preserve his future quick bucks.
He should have slammed the paper, said his private life was nobody's business but his, disowned that money grabbing skank who grassed him up and said nothing more on the subject.
If he felt he needed help he could then have sought it privately without announcing it publicly in a cheap exclusive 'Hi I'm Ricky Hatton, currently in the Priory for alcohol and drug addiction' What is he, a Jeremy Kyle guest now?
I really have lost all respect for him.

10 pints of guiness is perfectly managable on a night out in town, as long as you havent got work the next morning that is.
never done coke (other than the 99p stuff my mum gets me from somerfields) dont have no idea what thats like combined with the black stuff

That's my point though Hammer. Instead of just telling the news of the world to fuck off and ignore it Ricky, clearly concered about the image backlash went to rehab, got his dad to cry on national tv for him and then gives an exclusive to the NOTW about how he's fighting the toughest fight of his life
How can you have ANY respect for him after that? Obviously he had a chat with Max Clifford who advised him to prostrate himself before the British public and ask for help in order to get their sympathy, support and ultimately in the long term, publicity and cash.
It really wouldn't suprise me if he got a spin off reality show 'the Hurting Hatton's' or something all about the family's struggle to cope with Ricky's drinking, his near death experience from his cocaine blackouts, how an angel came to him, how his brother copes with having no talent and looking like Sloth from the Goonies etc etc.
He took cocaine in private in his private life. Big fucking deal! Tell the NOTW to do one and use your contacts and promotional power to make sure Emma Bowe never gets a pro fight ever again, along with uploading whatever porn pics he surely has of her anonymously onto the internet.
That would have been my reaction.

he just did the very same thing anyone in the public eye would rightfully be advised to do, he held his hands up and admitted he made a mistake.
As ive said had hatton of just stuck his finger up to the camera and carried on as if nothing had happened then we would all be on here know saying how out of control hatton is and now he needs help.
Other than the whole selling your soul to the news of the world thing i cant see what hatton has really done wrong here...
Re: privacy laws (hatton)
this is exactly the reaction the news of the world wanted
all these so called boxing fans turning on one of the best loved british boxers because of what one dirty news story
they can carry on printing crap now fuelled by the new hate for hatton
Re: privacy laws (hatton)
I don't know. Part of me is in full agreement with Bilbo. He makes a lot of good points regarding how the media is there to exploit a situation and how Hatton has sold himself out, but at the same time I don't want to see Hatton going down the George Best route. This was probably not the best way to deal with the situation. Surely his family could have been notified and they could have locked him in a room without anyone knowing. Extreme I know, but to solve the problem by telling the entire country that you are an out of control druggy? Bit weird. It's a messed up situation all round.
