Congrats to Manny Pacquiao on his great victory!
i said before that if pacquiao won, i would give him his props. even though i did not see the fight, my brother was giving me round by round updates. another great victory for truly an all-time great. i seriously thought margarito had a punchers chance but never did i imagine him getting pummeled for twelve rounds.
again, congrats to not only a great, great fighter but to a very honorable and classy man.
Re: Congrats to Manny Pacquiao on his great victory!
Margaritos face was fucked up. Pac took some damage to the body though
Re: Congrats to Manny Pacquiao on his great victory!
yeah, that's what i hear!
Re: Congrats to Manny Pacquiao on his great victory!
He fought a great fight as usual so deserves total respect. These bigger men just can't seem to find a way to put a real dent into him nor cut him.
This was not quite as impressive as the Cotto fight, but this is clearly because Margarito is a tougher nut to crack. Margarito fought quite well early on, but that fourth dazzled him and then the eye was gone. An uphill battle after that, but he still had his moments.
I give props to both fighters for this fight. And to some degree I do think Margarito has earned some of his redemption. He took his licks like a man and showed that even without any so called wraps that he could still hurt the best fighter in the world.
Re: Congrats to Manny Pacquiao on his great victory!
Whats amazing is that Manny can when he wants to match these guys physically as well as overwhelm them with his speed.
Incredible.

Oh my god, I can't believe my eyes and what I'm reading? :o
Re: Congrats to Manny Pacquiao on his great victory!
Ah good news, I didnt watch it.
Good post milmascaras.
Re: Congrats to Manny Pacquiao on his great victory!
What was amazing from round one, is seeing Margarito sitting back and boxing.... That shows he gave Manny a hugely deserved amount of respect... I have really yet to see Margarito not spend 90% of a fight moving forward and swinging non stop, backing opponents up.. But he had to fight a total different fight, or probably would have been twice as battered with his usual style...
Just amazing that you have a 17 pound advantage, but you have to be 10 times more cautions and respectful of the man in front of you... A testament to Pac's presence in the ring..
It's funny, in boxing, the idea is to land punches.. That's how you win... But it was catch 22 for Margarito with that fundamental.. The more punches he throws, the more he gets demolished...
Just outstanding and congrats!

milmascaras I have never had a conversation with you but some of the posts I read that u post, well...
But my friend in saying that I think part of your opinions and people like you kinda make this forum what it is (the best most concise and educated boxing forum in the world), and for you to come out with this post shows the class that u have deep down and the respect I beleive you have for most of the posters on this site.
Now I just wanna say to the die hard Pac fans/borderline Pac nut huggers (no disrespect guys) that sometimes you guys have to call a spade a spade too, sometimes guys you also respect other people's opinions on this site. Again I don't mean any disrespect with this comment ok guys, I'm a filipino and a massive Pac fan too! ;D
All in all great post milmascaras and it is a good change from all the Pac/Floyd hating that goes on here, coz throughout all dat h8 sometimes we lose the points and arguments and more importantly, what makes posting and reading threads on this site and forum so gr8!
Have a good nite guys!!!;D
Re: Congrats to Manny Pacquiao on his great victory!
you don't need a round by round, Pacquiao fucked him up and schooled the cheating bitch just as almost everyone (with half a brain) said he would, and now to wait and see what punishment Margarito will get if it was true he was using banned supplements as they suspect he was moments before the fight hahaha the cheater doesn't learn, maybe the 2 brutal ass whoopings he took after getting caught should be a good enough lesson
Re: Congrats to Manny Pacquiao on his great victory!
The facts
Manny Pacquiao took 12 rounds to beat......
A man that Shane Mosley destoryed inside 9 rounds.
A guy that had looked awful in his last two outings
A guy that came down to a catch weight
A guy that had a year out of the sport because he was banned
I fail to see how this is a great victory....

Did you watch the fight?
Manny was the smaller man giving away reach, height and weight. Marg was pumped up for this fight and tried his hardest to corner Manny and stop him. Manny punched and attacked throughout the fight hardly giving an inch. It was a very entertaining fight that had me on the edge of my seat as I thought Mar could still pull an upset at any stage of the fight.

It doesn't change the above facts.

but it does reinforce the fact that the cheating bastard (Margarito) is nothing without his beloved loaded gloves hahahahaha
Re: Congrats to Manny Pacquiao on his great victory!
^^Really??
I thought the exact opposite.
Obviously he didn't wear Pac down the same as Cotto or punish him.
But he didn't land close to the amount of punches, and it's not because his gloves weren't loaded.
