I hope youre allowed to skip the video sequences. I hate games that force you watch all that rubbish in story mode when all you wanna do is fight. It looks pretty similar to FNR4 in terms of gameplay. The differences appear to be in training and career mode which isnt any good to me. Id have preferred it if they perfected the actual functions etc and maybe they have so I look forward to playing it. Ill buy it regardless.

Game is going to have an M rating. I'm assuming that is the US equivalent of having a 15 or an 18 rating here in the UK. Oh, and the game starts off in prison. :o

Not what I expected at all.
"Essentially what we wanted to do with Champion mode necessitated this being an M-rated game," explains producer Brian Hayes. "It's a story with mature themes. Not topless mature themes, but it's gritty. Being an unlicensed sports product and being in the world of boxing where there is a lot of stuff going on ... if you're going to tell a story about boxing, it's not going to be, 'Hey, I just got an e-mail from your rival and he's really upset.' There are a lot of fighters who we drew inspiration from, and they've been through some real mature experiences. So we laid out our vision for Champion mode and we said, if we do this, there's no way this can be T.
"Then some of the ancillary benefits were, great, now we can finally do real damage in gameplay. It no longer needs to be softened up. But the catalyst for it all was that we wanted a new Champion mode, and we didn't want to sugarcoat it at all. And if we weren't going to water it down, it had to be mature."
A move that Hayes knows will shock a lot of consumers.
"I think people will be surprised, but I also think they're going to be excited," adds Hayes. "I've been working on the mode for over a year now and I'm still excited about it. 'Fight Night' has never had an M-rating, EA Sports has never had an M-rated game, so we're in a unique position of being one of the only sports games to be able to do it because we don't need to run anything by David Stern or whoever.
"It's up to us, and as long as our boxers are cool with it, we can take the story where it needs to go."
I don't want to start off in a prison. I like the idea of adding dimensions to the single player mode, but I don't want to play Bernard Hopkins.
That's what I thought but then Xbox Games (Fight Night included) have been making good use of Downloadable Content (at a cost). So I'm kinda hoping that they release content later on for additional characters with new storylines. After all, It worked for GTA and RDR.Quote:

Yeah, you would hope that there would be other characters and a variety of choices that all have a bearing on you in some way. If it is done well it might be very good.
They were on the right path with the last game, so with the correct additions and reformulations we might well have another corker.
Fingers crossed as they have always upped the formula thus far.
They did a similar thing regarding a "one size fits all" story line in Don King's Prizefighter. I think you had around 40-50 fights, and it played out as a tv documentary about your fighter's career. It was fun the first time, but really limited the route you could take as you had to follow exactly the same career path every time. This could be a great idea if they create various routes that your fighter can go down, but it'll be very limited if you don't get that option
