In search of the ART SWIDEN story
ART SWIDEN - Heavyweight Boxer - THE PITTBURGH PHANTOM
It has been a long long time since Art Swiden touched gloves and came out fighter from the late Forties
until 1960 hen he closed his book on active boixng with a couple of fights in 1960 against Bert Whitehurst and Wayne Bethea Along the way he fought the likes of ZORA FOLLEY and BOB SATTERFIELD.
Today, he lives in the golden memories of some including that of Shawn Margaret Cohen who now lives in London England. But, there was a time back in the day when Shawn and Art were good friends.
Shawn is able to tell much of the story beyond the glory years that ended in 1960, but to
tell the full ART SWIDEN story, she could use some help from the boxing community that may have old clipping of Art when he was an active boxer throughout the Fifties.
It is now 2012, and the story about ART SWIDEN is still being weaved into a boxing and life tapestry

Thanks Brian for always looking out for ART and for me! You are a true gentleman and a Champ! Now if anyone has anything they would like to share for me to complete his story, I would be very happy to hear it, and any old videos of his fights which have been extremely hard to come by but I do know they exist, or did. Thanks again, Shawn Cohen
