Haye versus Hopkins, Tarver and Toney, what happens?
Ok, I'm not suggesting these guys would have a realistic chance of upsetting Haye, I think he beats all three comfortably.
My question though is how?
These three guys over the years have proved themselves the toughest in the business, none of them close to being stopped, some of the most durable guys in the business.
Can Haye knock them out?
Who do you reckon of the three could go 12 rounds with Haye? and who do you think at this stage would give him the most trouble?
Put your answers on a postcard and send to the hobbit at Bag End, or alternatively replie to my poll I have set up for your convenience.
Re: Haye versus Hopkins, Tarver and Toney, what happens?
its very difficult to say dude
i cant see any of the beating him
I would guess at this late stage of his carear Haye may wear Toney down to an early stoppage
I couldnt see Tarver going the distance with him now either
Maybe hopkins would
what do you think?
Re: Haye versus Hopkins, Tarver and Toney, what happens?
James Toney may not be a top fighter any more but I think he lasts a long time vs damn near anyone, solid defense and a hell of a chin still go a long way.
Hopkins is very cagey, he is difficult to catch clean and he fouls often, but vs ANY top heavyweights that can punch he'd get KO'd
Tarver is a fight I'd actually like to see because I hate that dude and would like to see him KO'd
Re: Haye versus Hopkins, Tarver and Toney, what happens?
Booth will talk about how Hopkins is a young 45 and unbeaten at Heavyweight. Haye will say Tarver nearly beat rocky. Sky sports will say Toney is so good he's taken up a new sport just to keep him interested in life. Almost Michael Jordan like. It'll be PPV and the MEN will sell out. Groves will be fighting somebody with an un-pronouncable name on the undercard and A Force will be selling programmes outside in the snow. Jonny Nelson will still have his bollock enhancing pants on and Barry McGuigan will be jibbering away incohenrently, trying to avoid looking at Nelson's bulge. Nelson will be adjusting his body position to try and get a better bollock angle. Ricky Hatton will be in the studio not eating. This will result in mass hysteria about a possible come back fight. He'll cry a little bit about his cocaine shame. Ray will be there talking about how Ricky is a lad's lad, and how if it wasn't for Boxing he'd be selling carpets with his Mum on Glossop market. Carroll will laugh, call Ray a 'cheeky mare' before hitting him on the head with a rolled up programme.
They'll probably have Lewis in there actually, talking intentionally slow to try and drag the broadcast out. There'll patronise Bruno by making him stand up and throw a few pretend combinations when the camera pans to him in the audience. Then they'll talk about Lewis - Bruno for a while, and then they'll compare it to Haye - Harrison. Then they'll show that fight again and bill the whole show as 'Two Heavyweight Title fights - One Night'. £30. Bargain.
Re: Haye versus Hopkins, Tarver and Toney, what happens?
Difficult to say. Hopkins is difficult to catch, and could probably hold and foul his way through the fight. Toney has a great chin and still has defensive skills, so again it could be difficult to stop him, especially against Haye, who doesn't throw combinations much. He'd starch Tarver quickly, of that I'm fairly sure. I'd take him to stop Toney and Tarver, and probably stop Hopkins though he'd be most likely to last. And yes, I realize I voted that he'd stop one but they're all durable, only to pick him to stop all 3 in my post ;D I voted before I actually gave it any thought
Re: Haye versus Hopkins, Tarver and Toney, what happens?
He would knock out Hopkins and Tarver. Toney would likely go the distance as he can take a HW shot and has those smarts. The Toney of a few years ago stops Haye down the stretch, but Toney is inactive and old. He appears to have forgotten about boxing. The previous two have no real credentials as HW fighters.

Haha, you fuckin' legend! The worst thing is I can see all that, except you left out the bit where Ricky inexplicably tries to call out Mayweather AGAIN

"You know I don't like to make excuses, that's not what I'm about, but if it hadn't been for Joe Cortez, Billy Graham, Floyd Sr & Mr Patel at the cornershop who gave me 15 pence changed when he owed me 25, I would have beaten Floyd & been the pound for pound champ"

just for the record i do think Joe Cortez was far to over eager in splitting them up in the hatton mayweather fight
im not saying ricky would have won, it was just a bit too obvious when ricky and every other boxing expert had made it very clear in the build up that that was his only chance
Re: Haye versus Hopkins, Tarver and Toney, what happens?
Haye knocks all these old fuckers out. EASY.

That's a shocker ;D
I'd buy it if it wasn't for the fact that Mayweather was getting the best of him on the inside when they were there anyway.
