Guzman-Khan - Feb/March in Britain. Fact.
Golden Boy have said Khan's next bout will definitely be in England around Feb/March time.
Guzman is having a gimme on the undercard of Khan-Maidana. The bout is scheduled at 140. He is a Golden Boy fighter. He is a relatively light hitter. He costs relative peanuts. He has no problem fighting abroad.
That is all.

Would be a good fight. Khan should outwork him though. I agree, it's definitely a gimme that it will happen.
Re: Guzman-Khan - Feb/March in Britain. Fact.
Makes sense as a homecoming fight. Its a bit presumptuous of him beating Maidana though for them to be already looking at his next fight
Re: Guzman-Khan - Feb/March in Britain. Fact.
I've liked Guzman for a long time. I think he could do Khan. He's got good skills, speed and a good chin.
Re: Guzman-Khan - Feb/March in Britain. Fact.
Well it's not a given, obviously, because Khan needs to beat Maidana but Golden Boy will definitely have a plan for a big moneymaking fighter like Khan.
Guzman has a similar-ish style to Floyd. Long term thinking and all...
Re: Guzman-Khan - Feb/March in Britain. Fact.
That would be a good fight. But IMO, Khan(should he win) should be fighting the winner of Alexander vs Bradley. At least be trying to get that fight.
Guzman, needs to get his stock back up and be a little more active. I would like to see Guzman vs Judah instead.
Re: Guzman-Khan - Feb/March in Britain. Fact.
The problem with Bradley/Alexander is these behemoth promoters - Golden Boy and Bob Arum - are moving to keep everything in house.
Victor Ortiz is probably Khan's next big American fight.

Sure? I'm riding with Peterson!!!
Re: Guzman-Khan - Feb/March in Britain. Fact.
No way Guzman makes weight against Khan.
Re: Guzman-Khan - Feb/March in Britain. Fact.
I for one certainly pass on this idea. Guzman was highly talented as a super featherweight, but went downhill from there for me. He has been either too fat, too inactive or pretty poor of late for me. Super talent wasted.
Wouldn't mind seeing him in against Judah as someone mentioned, but I'd say if he gets beat up by Funeka then Khan beats him up good. To be honest, I can't believe Guzman is still being promoted in this manner. I'll be shocked if he makes it past undercard fighter again as going on his recent past, he doesn't seem like the kind of dude that can be bothered putting in that extra mile of road work or extra round of sparring. Those grins and laughs him and Beard put on in his last weigh-in fiasco just put the nail in the coffin for me on Guzman.
Re: Guzman-Khan - Feb/March in Britain. Fact.
Guzman. What happened to you man ??? I keep seeing what that span and reach of Funeka did to Guzman. He looked tattered and just busted up badly. Think Khan would be big, too long and too fresh right now.
Re: Guzman-Khan - Feb/March in Britain. Fact.
Just throwing it out there, would it make any sense to have Khan face Prescott to avenge his only loss as his homecoming fight?

Hopefully not. Khan's far exceeded Prescott's level now and doesn't achieve anything by going back and beating him, except maybe personally erasing those demons from the defeat. Especially if he gets past Maidana, a Prescott fight just wouldn't do anything for his career. Seems like it could be a possibility according to Richard Schaefer
