Abner Mares

I was very impressed with this guy in his fight against Vic Darchinyan, he won a close decision, but it was the way he went about his business that was most impressive. Vic did not have a bad night, he fought well and landed some of the heaviest shots of his career, yet Mares was still there at the end and wins the final four rounds and the fight! That was tough stuff from this young gun and i think he has the ability to be a real superstar of the ring. I can't wait to see him fight Agbeko and then maybe Vic again? I hope he gets the credit he deserves for this great win and the opportunities that lay ahead, he has the build to go upto 122lb and that will send a shiver up the spine of a few contenders up there.
Thoughts?

I had never seen him fight before, and i was impressed. I was impressed with the way he kept coming at Vic, and how he battled the whole fight with the gash above his eye. I'm looking forward to seeing more from him.

I have been very impressed with him for quite a few years now, i predicted he could be a top 10 P4P fighter within a few years. And he might be able to do that with the amount of talent in the Bantamweight divison.

I also thought he beat Yonnhy Perez, and was unfortunate not to get the nod. He's a fantastic little boxer/puncher with alot of heart.
