Re: Spartacus blood and sand
It's gets better mate. I thought the first episode was awful but once Spartacus gets sent down into the underworld it starts to become ridiculously awesome.
The nudity is great, the violence is great, the language is great. For me it was the greatest new series of 2010, epic stuff.
Re: Spartacus blood and sand
I really enjoyed it. Seemed like every time I caught myself thinking "I wonder what that actress looks like naked"...bingo she got topless.
Re: Spartacus blood and sand
Haven"t seen any episode yet, Since I am a kid I've always been fascinated by the figure of Spartacus have read countless history books about him, I am a bit scare (I admit) that they will fuck up too much the real historical events that took place but I am sure that somewhere, my legendary curiosity will take over and that I will still give it a glance. For the moment, I've downloaded the 2 seasons of Rome and will vicariously look at it like a peon of the era looking at this great civiliation unfold from craddle to death.
Re: Spartacus blood and sand
I watched the first one and gave it a thumbs down, BUT, my girlfriend continued to watch it and by the end I was peaking my head around the corner to see what was happening.
So, stick with it and I think you will enjoy it. That 300 style you mention lasts just a few episodes and is rarley seen for the remainder of the show. My main gripe is the dialouge wich seems unnatural.

On a more serious note, sucks that Spartacus got cancer, apparently they're recasting the part for when they come out with the next season.
WHAT?! I missed this on the first read. Horrible.
Re: Spartacus blood and sand
He got cancer, it went into remission, they went ahead with the prequel thing. When they were about to start filming the second season, the cancer came back. They are now going to replace him with another guy. Whitfield was pretty good for being an unknown. Hopefully their casting hits another home run. My favorite episode is when they fight Theokoles.
Re: Spartacus blood and sand
Awesome I have been really puzzled the last few days what to download now to watch seeing everything is on hold for holidays or awaiting a start.....
Californication i'm dieing for, and it's still many more weeks to watch because 2 episodes came out before the actual Season starts so they have to air before the Episode 3 which i'm up to.
But this one sounds great, don't know how I missed it... Biblo's standard or awesomeness usually aligns somewhere along with me so will definitely not give up after one or two episodes...
VChilds sold me on it though with how you wonder what someone looks like topless, then bang a minute later your question is answered...
That is my number one all time frustration with watching Neighbours all these years!!!
Susan Kennedy for starters is too old now, but wish she had of done a topless photo shoot back in the days when Carl was getting drunk while riding his mountain bike...... nicccceeee....
Jenae who went out of it a couple of years ago had a nipple slip during the show!!!! I have a slow motion video of it... Fantastic..
Re: Spartacus blood and sand
I saw a preview for season 2 and I am sure they said it starts this coming Friday.
So, there is a chance it will be on during Friday Night Fights.
Re: Spartacus blood and sand
Yeah its a prequel. Spartacus won't be in it. And then they'll come out with a follow up normal season except with a different actor.
I alternate between thinking its kind of great and kind of awful but for the most part I like it. Some of the dialogue (some as in most of it) is so silly and over the top. But I mean its purposefully over the top so I guess its all right. Whoever came up with the "inside the helmet cam" when they're fighting should be shot. Worst idea ever.
I'm on episode 7. Its entertaining.
Re: Spartacus blood and sand
I liked it, it got better as it went on. Not to mention when they changed to having him fight with two swords it got rid of the in the helmet cam. Thumbs up.
The prequel started last night. I'll probably watch it tonight or tomorrow. I like Battiatus (sp) so I'm looking forward to it.
They also cast the new actor. Its an Aussie, Liam Mcintyre. Kind of looks like the original actor.
