Froch says Johnson fight looking like 21st May
No venue confirmed he want's it in England but not sure yet.
Re: Froch says Johnson fight looking like 21st May
If Clinton Woods could beat him what three years or so back you'd have to think Froch would be too much for him now.
Knowing both of their fighting styles however I don't think it will be an easy night for the Cobra. He can't afford complacency here.
Re: Froch says Johnson fight looking like 21st May
Does anyone else think this fight is completely pointless however? I mean sure it's likely to be entertaining but Ward and Froch are clearly the top two fighters in the Supersix, in fact the only as all the others have now withdrawn. Why in the world are they putting a potential stumbling block in the way of their big final showdown?
Makes no sense to me at all. Let Froch fight Ward and Dirrel fight Johnson with the winners fighting each other, and then the winners of that fight fighting Bute.
That's such a logical course to plot but no.........

It is but promoters will go where the money is first and as Johnson entered the tournament with a 3 fights contract, they will make him fight, even if it's pointless, so everybody makes more money. Sad indeed.

I thought Johnson was done about 6 fights ago, he's one that you cant write off. He's like Jason he just keeps coming back from the dead.
Re: Froch says Johnson fight looking like 21st May
If Froch/Hennessy can't get old "no fans, fights for peanuts" Johnson in England that will be hilarious.

Woods fought him three times though. He was well accustomed to that style. Besides, he got mullered in their 2nd fight and got lucky with the judges in their rubber match IMO.

It'll be more hilarious if Hennessy manages to achieve something for once.

Should be a good fight. One thing for sure, Green is coming to fight!!! I won't be surprise Green give Froch soem scary moments.
Anyways . . .
Dirrel fight Johnson? Dirrell is a quitter. I can not respect the man for lying and walking away from the most, possible, entertaining fight from the start of the tourney. Let Dirrell fight Taylor before they get a main stream fight again. On the undercard of the Super 6 final.

True.
Carl Froch, currently the toughest matched fighter in world boxing, not even on a major British TV station. Sad.

Totally agree. Shame.
I think Johnson v. Froch is a good fight. Johnson has been looking good lately. He did well enough against CHad Dawson to merit a rematch. He knocked out Allen Green. Froch should win, but hey, Johnson applies a lot of pressure.

Clearly, there is no place in boxing for logic.

Yeah styles make fights and Johnson brings the kind of presure Froch hasnt dealt with before. Pascal was able to match him for 6 rounds and Abraham was dangerous but other than that Carl hasnt met an aggressive guy quite like Glen. It may bring the best out in Carl by forcing him to fight and throw more punches. We all know he likes drop his left hand and take breathers between his attacks but he cant do that in this one. He will be under constant pressure so he'll have to get his hands up, grit his teeth and punch with Glen.
I'm looking forward to it. Away from home Carl will need to be clear cut if he is to get a decision and not many people have easy wins over Glen.
