NFL Commentators

I just have to get this off my chest. With all the talk in the boxing forum about boxing commentators, I thought I'd put in my two cents regarding NFL commentators.

Dan Dierdorf is a nice enough guy... and a hell of a lineman back in his day, but... he seriously needs to hang up the microphone. It's getting to where I can't stand to hear him on any game. All he does is blabber on and on about worthless shit. As far as I'm concerned, he doesn't add anything of value to the commentating. Maybe he did at one point, but not anymore. Most ex-NFL'ers do a pretty good job commentating, 'cause they bring that extra dimension to the game where they break down the plays and the tendencies given their previous experiences. But Dierdorf is an exception. He blabs, he preaches, he scolds... he says nothing of interest.

Most of the play-by-play guys I'm ok with. And most of the teams they pair up are pretty good and work off each other. But Dierdorf I can do without.
