thoughts on ricky burns next fight vs joseph laryea

personally i thought that ricky would be fighting someone better than laryea in his 2nd defence. Look im from the same city as burns and will be going to the fight but im a little bit disappointed that his team has went with the african.

i understand its a voluntary defence and that ricky doesnt need to fight his mandatory till sept so i can see why his team are wanting him to get another payday before the bigger fights come in.

his mandatory is against a thai janderang but he changes is name frquently and i think he is going the wbc route.

i have also saw that the wbo have ordered an offical eliminator between eloy perez and luis cruz in march so this looks like burns next fight.

He's selling himself short, why not go for Fana? I mean he's not that scary I'd actually rate Martinez over Fana. Unless he is just trying to get in some extra money before he fights Terdsak(yes, thats his name), and doesnt want to get banged up, and miss his mandatory.

Paul Appleby was Burns next opponent until Laryea mucked the plan up. So he is actually fighting a tougher opponent than originally planned.

Burns still works in a sports shop, so no-one should really begrudge him earning a few bob before he faces someone genuinely good/world-class.

I hope he gets a chance to unify after this.
