What Floyd Mayweather Junior needs now!
It looks to me like Mayweather has nobody that he really listens to, respects enough to listen to.:o
--Bob Arum
In the United States, a person is presumed innocent until proven otherwise and until he or she is granted due process (Ei incumbit probatio qui dicit, non qui negat) . That said, I firmly submit that five- division world champion Floyd Mayweather Junior (41-0) falls within these presumptions. More to the point, I am not ready to join those who have rushed to judgment in their sanctimonious “rage.”
However, though clearly unlike the nature of Edwin Valero’s cascading and horrific issues, the recent headlines surrounding Floyd’s out-of-the ring activities have been hardly encouraging and have flashed warning signs like a broken traffic street light. Floyd needs better, mentoring and counseling from his closest advisers and he needs it now while the issuess are out there. His path continues to rapidly move in the wrong direction. Where there is smoke, there are usually smoldering cinders, but hopefully Floyd will get through his legal issues and be exonerated of the growing list of charges alleged against him (which now include several felony charges and several misdemeanor chargers as well as civil claims). The latest is a misdemeanor battery charge after he allegedly poked a security officer in the face late last year.
Now, Floyd reportedly is being sued by his Home Owner's Association, which alleges that the boxer's temper issues have become a threat to his gated Las Vegas community and the people who work there.
But meanwhile and whatever the case, he owes it to himself and to his fans to get back in the ring and do what he does best, because that will be the only way to change his direction. And doing what he does best is repeatedly engaging in “uncivil, hostile, harassing, and threatening behavior, and participating in battery and violence”—IN THE RING-and only in the ring.:o
Floyd is still at the absolute peak of his earning power though not popularity and hecertainly has mega fights out there which the fans will gladly pay to watch.
Hopefully, it’s not too late. We will soon find out.
Re: What Floyd Mayweather Junior needs now!
It's merely an opinion, but what I think Floyd really needs is a fight.
Idle hands do the devils work and it seems when Floyd has spare time he merely uses it to get in trouble.
He needs to find focus, rededicate and keep his nose clean.
A fight would ensure this.
Re: What Floyd Mayweather Junior needs now!
IMO floyd knows that the "0" on he's record keeps him relevent, keeps him rich. He would likely beat everybody in boxing but the fear of losing that "0" keeps him away from boxing and into the embrace of foolishness.

Agreed
Re: What Floyd Mayweather Junior needs now!
I agree with that. Although is there a fight out there that Floyd could get 'up' for?
Pacquiao is the only one at welter weight who wouldn't be a foregone conclusion. that said though i'd still expect floyd to win it rather easily.

I for-see Mayweather (And this is in no way an opinion that has to do with my personal opinion of Floyd just the trend he is seemingly on).....Is the continued legal issues for some time down the road...Either he gets jail time or has to pay HUGE restitution....In the meantime if he does not fight he will again get himself in more trouble mostly due to reasons memntioned by others above....He will fight again....One or two times for himself and one or two times because he needs the money....Once Floyd is out of debt and feels financially secure he will retire....He will blow his money (Floyd spends like Tyson did everything has to be over the top).....Floyd will return again for money....I see this cycle going on untill Floyd is stuck as another once great fighter who fights due to the need for money with no choice but to fight or be pennyless....Floyd will end up being beaten by fighters not even a shadow of his former self......
I hope I am wrong but at the moment he has that future written all over himself....WHY? I really do not understand....The man has the world by the balls and does not need to go down this path....I do believe that he does not have the right people around him....I think his Uncle and father are the worst things in his life as far as guidence....Actually I think Roger is the worse thing for Floyd I think SR cares for his son....I see Roger walking away fgrom him after JR is spent and played out....IF Roger does not end up back in prison for a long time himself
Re: What Floyd Mayweather Junior needs now!
He needs his arse whooping by Manny Pacman. If Floyd never steps up to the plate and eventually fights Manny then im afraid we'll be called a Chicken Shit!!He knows that!I'd hate to think in the future the Mayweather vs Manny will be talking subject of down the pub or just normal talk between avid boxing fans of "Who would have won,How would it proceeded during each round,etc,etc....looks like that's what we'll be wondering due to Mayweather making every excuse not to give us fans and the whole world what we and BOXING itself need. That fight needs to happen especially the way the sport is now.:-\

To be honest, that would probably do him and boxing the most good.

He also needs to get rid of those who are currently giving him counsel and advice. He needs to shed Senior, Roger, Leanard, but go out and get Jeff who has his head on right.
His entourage does him no good whatsoever as those hip hop parties at his mansion are reflecting. He knowes better, but apparently he has a short fuse in public. I can remember when he was back in Grand Rapids helping poor people by giving out food on Thanksgiving. Whatever happened to that Floyd? Vegas I guess--and his own paranoia and fear of losing his "0." :(
