Can we really write off Mosley so easily?
I've been hearing a lot of people say this fight should never have been made as Pacquiao is at his peak and Mosley is on the way down, maybe already hit the bottom. I was thinking back to Pacquiao's last fight against the game Margarito and although he put a good beating on him he didn't hurt him half as bad as Mosley did. I know Margarito was distracted by the events that took place in the dressing room prefight but what was interesting was how Mosley was able to use his speed to move out of the way of Margaritos punches and pot shot him until Margarito was weak enough for him to stand inside flatten his feet and wing away until he was stopped.
I really think Mosley believes he can do this and I think he has the power and speed still to cause a huge upset in this fight. One thing's for sure Mosley will not get stopped himself.
If the odds are good I'm putting a bet on this one for Mosely. I'd advise you do the same.

I'd say look at his last fight against Mora. Mosley is a shot fighter IMO and he shouldn't have gotten a chance at Pacquaio. I think he will be stopped on the stool just as Oscar did.
Re: Can we really write off Mosley so easily?
i remember mosley getting out boxed by Mayorga for 11 and a half rounds
he has a punchers chance

I agree. Check the threads. I've been saying Mosley wins a long time ago.
Look for Mosley to have a few gameplans
A. Punch and hold - See Margarito vs Mosley(first 3 or 4 rounds)
B. Rough Pacman up - NO BODY DID THAT YET
C. Counter - See JMM vs Pacman and Mosley vs Vargas
D. Hayemaker - See Mosley vs Margarito(Last 2 rounds)
E. Cheat - See Niz Richardson

Mosley was getting outboxed by Mayorga? Go watch that fight, Mayorga was landing like 10% of his punches the entire night, I hate how people try to use that fight as evidence of anything. Mosley outboxed Mayorga in an ugly affair.
What about Mosley vs Mora? It's always been a very difficult style match up for him, I don't see how it indicates how his fight with Pacquiao will go at all. Remember Morales-Raheem? Then he fought Pacquiao again and looked much, much better than against Zahir. It's totally different fighting a rangy, technical boxer who tries to stay away from your power, then to fight Manny who is moves a lot, but he's open to be hit and he is always coming at you.
I said Margarito would cause a lot of problems for Manny, and on the scorecards he didn't, but you ask Manny about the sixth round and some of the situations he got in where Margarito was getting off uppercuts inside, and he said it was his toughest fight ever. Well Mosley is much faster than Margarito, he hits harder, and his chin has never been fully cracked, the only time it sort of was, was when he got a bad clash of heads against Vernon Forrest way back when. More importantly like I've been saying Manny doesn't really know how to control the space in a fight, he basically has to keep on punching to get his opponent into the position he wants them in, he hasn't learned the footwork necessary to get his right foot outside their left unless he does his big lateral movement which won't be as effective against a quicker opponent.
The biggest difference Mosley has that none of Pacquiao's opponents have never had is really quick feet. Mosley still can move quickly, and Pacquiao will have a harder time getting off combinations if Mosley fights the right way.
Re: Can we really write off Mosley so easily?
Mosley aged 30 years during the Floyd Mayweather fight. I expect pacquiao to demolish him inside 5 rounds.
I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE Shane to Ko pacroid but I just can't see it happening.
Re: Can we really write off Mosley so easily?
Margarito gave Manny Pac a hell a few scares and I think Shane will do the same but not win the fight.

Sorry to pull you up on this but I see it from a completely opposite perspective. I'll show you what I mean:
Firstly though, let me just start by saying that Manny's ability to punch on the move shouldn't be discredited as amateurish or futile etc. because he does it effectively 99% of the time.
Watch round 1 of the fight.

So Morales appears to be in control of things, footwork wise, turning nicely keeping things in cheque then at 01:53 Manny moves forward like a locomotive. It works, Morlaes doesn't like it. Immediately he is more agitated in his movements.
At 01:27 Morales tries to fire of likewise but is ineffective and Manny responds by driving Morales back to the ropes. Now this happened because Morales was in no position to respond. Manny was perfectly positioned to deliver his punches and his punches were delivered in such a way Morales was never gonna be able to respond. Manny wasn't bothered about controlling space because he controlled Morales upper-body and hands movement while jumping in on him.
This is highlighted immediately when Morales then, in a show of commendable bravado responds yet again buy fighting fire with fire, driving Manny back to the opposite side of the ring in the same manor. He knew what Manny was all about.
Manny has a way of finding a corridor to punch in and drive home a series of un-answerable punches because he is controlling his fighters upper-body movement and hands while utilising his own explosive (although admittedly not exactly sophisticated) footwork.
That's why it's so hard to fight fire with fire with Manny.
But I know your a Mayweather fan mate so I may as well point out that I know how Manny would be completely fucked in that regard here ;)

Did you not see Margarito's face at the end of his last fight. I would like to think that Margarito would disagree with you. Am I wrong or didn't he have a fractured eye socket at the end of his fight with Pac?
