Sounds wonderful in this weather. You'll have a great time! ;D
Its a little bit away yet thank goodness, but in a strange way looking forward to it
You could practice by lighting your feet with matches! :p
Not overly fond of pain Miles.
I think I'll just practice sprinting instead, trying to touch the ground for as little time as I can!
Its exciting.
In investigating it, I hadn't realised its affiliation with religious and paganistic rituals.
Just make sure the coals are really hot. Also look up the Lidenfrost Effect (that's what keeps your feet from burning when walking on coals)
Will check that up buddy- thanks for the advice!
Can't wait for it now.
Basically the Lidenfrost Effect in this case is that the soles of your feet sweat and the coals are so hot that when you step on them the sweat turns from liquid to gas, but it does so in such a quick manner that there is a gas shield (if you will) around the liquid and that forms a protective barrier keeping your feet from burning for a while.
You get a similar effect by pouring water on an extremely hot frying pan.
You will be sweating from the sound of thinks so will be safe. ;)
Is it cheating to run spray your feet down with water first. I would accidentally make a puddle of water right before the coal pit.;D
