First impressions - a button bashers paradise !
Well i just had my first online experience and got knocked out 3 times - all by guys just hurling power punch after power punch.
I landed more but not the power ones. I thought the non stop punching was a no no in this game.
Yes its a new game and I hope its a grower but so far I hate it ! (and thats not just cos I lost)
Every fight seems like Hagler v Hearns which ok thats fair enough but the tactical side seems missing so far.
and the blocking seems shit - still can't get used to letting go of right stick on new game and just using R1. Keep throwing punches when I don't mean to
Ah well - will try again tomorrow....:-\

This is the one thing that put's me off buying the game. FNR4 didnt allow button mashing when first released, but soon changed to allow this. I doubt very much EA will ever allow full stick control for the throwing of punches, which means your always gonna get tit's who dont understand the art and just want to wing away till the cows come home !
Be interesting to see what other's who bought the game and play online think, but untill i get better feedback then I doubt i'll be joining in on this one :(

Yeah mate that's stopped me from buying the game too. I prefer to try and fight tactically, but this game seems like its more geared to out and out slugfests, which are fun but not every fight should be like that. Button bashers annoyed me on FNR4, and from everything I've heard this game is even worse for that. I'm sure I'll get it at some point when I'm bored and have nothing else to do but everything I've read and heard is hardly making me want to run out and get it right now :-\

Punch spammers are easier to defeat in this rather than FN4 since the stamina goes down rapidly after a combo. You damage more when their stamina is recovering, then when you see the guy blowing out his arse, unleash the fury.
