He 'splits opinion' more than most.
Haye is absoultely loved by the general public and media. He is one of the most popular champions i've ever seen. Only a small group of hardcore fans have a problem with him.
He may be popular in London, where you actually see his fans but hes not that well known a boxer. He doesnt get any exposure other than on sky.Quote:

I see that Warren is desperately trying to recreate a rivalry like Benn v Eubank between Groves and DeGale but unless non sky subscribers get to see them in their build up, its not going to happen. People arent going to go out of their way to watch them if they have no clue who they are.
I should have just said that all this build up in the boxing media, like ringside and the sport pages is like advertising a new beer in a pub. Youd have to already be a drinker to notice it.
