NFL Superstar Ray Lewis vs. Tommy Z
Ray Lewis says he’d beat his teammate Tom Zbikowski in the boxing ring - Boxing Experts Blog - Boxing Blog - Yahoo! Sports
Apparently Ray Lewis, with his ZERO boxing experience fancies he can whip his teammate Tommy Z in a pro boxing bout.
Now, Tommy has 90 amatuer fights, and 2 pro fights, but is outweighed by 50 lbs by Lewis.
No doubt who is the better athlete and football player, but there's also no doubt in my mind that Tommy Z would destroy Ray Lewis inside a round or two.
If you don't know how to box, and your fighting a guy with 90 amatuer fights, your gonna get killed.

It's Ray Lewis though. He's my top pick out of the NFL in the category of who would be a badass heavyweight.
Re: NFL Superstar Ray Lewis vs. Tommy Z
With proper boxing training, and a few warm up fights, he might could beat Tommy Z. But not right outta the gate he wouldn't.

Does anybody remember Ed Jones and, especially, Mark Gastineau? He thought that with a few months training and a few fights he'd be hw champ. Turned out the punk (not a word I use lightly) was afraid to get hit...Being athletic has little to do with prize fighting as they are two different things. Lewis wouldn't have a chance.

Exactly. Tommy Z has been in boxing since he's a little kid. There's no doubt in my mind who would win if they had a fight in the ring.

I'm aware of their failures. Hadn't really watched much of their fights, so looked up Gastineau, and he was a pretty poor boxer. Goddamn he was a big man with a huge reach tho ! Def threw arm punches, held his chin in the air, and really looked uncoordinated.
Alonzo Highsmith had him running away like a little girl. ;D
