No to Abner Mares-Tomoki Kameda
I hear they trying to get Kameda to replace Agbeko. I like Kameda. But he not ready for Mares at this point in his career.

Agree. The kid has talent but probably needs a few more fights and a year or two more of seasoning before throwing him in the deep end.

Why Tomoki? IF we're gonna get a Kameda? Get Koki. He handled 118 and a damned tough guy in Munoz last time out. The other thing to do would be matchup Mares and Jhonny Perez again. Both are ready for a Saturday fight, right?
Then of course I wonder if Anselmo Moreno is in any kind of shape or if Christian Mijares would be ready to fight Vic again on short notice. Probably not.

Just postpone it with Agbeko. A week or 2 weeks. No big deal.

Cuz Tomoki fights out of Mexico and is closely associated with Canelo Promotions who's owner (Alvarez) is signed to Golden Boy who is promoting the fight. Tomoki is also already in training for a fight set in May. It's the only reason he might be an option.

Sure if that's all it is. But if the guy really has a case of sciatica and therefore has a disc porblem? That ain't a week or two.

I appreciate the education!

If he steps in for the card so be it. Nothing to do with the tourney though even if he pulls the rabbit out of the hat.
