Tomas Adamek vs Vinny Maddalone---Oh My God

Anybody see this "winner" of a fight? This I guess is the best the American heavyweights have to offer. The non-American "winner", Adamek, threw combinations that looked like a squeegie man in New York City wiping someone's windshield with a 2-toweled approach. Maddalone fought like someone afraid to get hit, afraid to commit to punches, and got stopped in the 5th while scowling sarcastically as if he wasn't hurt. First American heavyweight I've watched closely in a while, and it is really disheartening.

You think this is obvious, but I find myself saying this more and more over the past 5 years or so: IF YOU DON'T THROW PUNCHES, YOU CAN'T WIN A FIGHT. Not sure what they are thinking, being afraid to throw punches AND being afraid to get hit, what is the solution to this lose-lose mindset? Is anybody else tired of watching fights in which one or both fighters are just not committing to punches, afraid to throw, afraid to get hit, etc.?? WTF??

No wonder there are no greats anymore these days. How can you win if you are afraid to let go and pull the goddam trigger? Goddamit. Fock. Shidt. Arsch. Crap. :shakehead:

Maddalone is and was a nobody he's not a top 10 fighter, not a top 10 American, and hell he'd be lucky to be in the top 10 heavyweights in New York.

American heavyweights are coming back around, we've got some young guys on the horizon: Seth Mitchell, Joe Hanks, Deontay Wilder, etc.

In the next few years the US will get their heavyweights back on track just for the simple fact that the Klitschko's will retire and aside from them there haven't really been any dominant european fighters and I don't forsee there being any after the Klitschko's retire.

Not just at heavyweight, this crap is what Americans will have to offer in every division, soon after Hopkins and Floyd retire.

Its ignorant to act as though Maddalone is "the best Americans have to offer". Cris Arreola, Eddie Chambers, Monte Barret, Hasim Rahman, Michael Grant are all VASTLY SUPERIOR to Maddalone.

Maddalone is a pretty good club fighter with a lot of guts and the right look. Thats all. He never claimed to be world class and no one as ever labeled him as such.

And Adamek is just a little bit better than you make him out to be.

This fight was in 2010 and you have only seen it now. Adamek has fought a couple of other people.
