Re: The Week Before A Fight
Wind training down but keep the blood going to my muscles, keep all the nutrients there and the muscles loose. Inactivity is awful.
I'd say up my fluid intake, but I always aim to be well hydrated anyway, same with food, get plenty of vitamin and mineral rich fruit and veg in, the more B Vitamins/Folic acid etc the better.
if your weight is good then get some carbs in, you want your muscles loaded with glycogen.
outside of that, the usual, focus on things I want to go in the fight, work technique so that I'm sharp and my balance is right etc.
I used to abstain from certain activities... ahem, but tbh I'd rather have had a relaxed week and got some good sleep in... not been on edge the whole week... so PERSONALLY I wouldn't bother with that.... down to you though.
Re: The Week Before A Fight
Stay loose, you aren't building any more, but maintaining and mentally preparing. Don't do anything that will get you hurt or shake your confidence. The last 48 hrs is where u really need to pull things back and just let your body be in full recovery mode. This based on not having to cut a bunch or w/e.
By now it should just be a mind thing...shadow boxing running scenarios thru in your head, preparing yourself for the many possibilities, creating answers to them. And make sure to eat good, especially loading your body with fuel for the battle (carbs, sugars).
and Good Luck!
