WHOA! Sergio says Mayweather would last, but he'll knock Pacman Out.
Sergio Martinez: Mayweather Would Last, Pacquiao I'd KO - Boxing News
"I want to show that I am the pound-for-pound best in the world and in order to do that, I have to fight Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather would be a better fight I think because he is physically bigger than Pacquiao and can carry the 154 pounds better than Pacquiao. With Mayweather, I think this would be the most difficult fight of my career and I see it going the distance and being judged on points, but together we would put on a good show," Martinez told John Martinez.
""Manny Pacquiao is working his business by picking boxers he knows he can beat and are pretty close to retirement. He is picking guys that are easy to beat so when you do this, it isn't hard to be pound-for-pound and if we fought I would beat him by knock out," Martinez said.
How dare Sergio call out Manny, well Manny's camp for doing things like that.;D;D;D
Re: WHOA! Sergio says Mayweather would last, but he'll knock Pacman Out.
Yeah of course Manny is hand picking easy challenges fighting in his 10th weight class whilst Martinez is seeking the best challenges to prove his greatness by wanting to take on men two divisions below him.
If he wants to be considered the best he needs to move up and fight Ward, Hopkins, Froch, Bute etc.

Well he's looking for the money fights after all the hard work he put in over the last few fights. I guess....
Re: WHOA! Sergio says Mayweather would last, but he'll knock Pacman Out.
I think he KO's both of them. He will not get a fight with either though, no way they take that risk. He's going to have to go up to 168 and get a fight with Ward, Froch, Bute. The problem is there is no money in those fights, Floyd and Pac are where the money will be for him.
Re: WHOA! Sergio says Mayweather would last, but he'll knock Pacman Out.
He is too big for Manny Pacquiao and that fight won't happen. Mayweather is a little bit bigger and that fight could happen. Mayweather did beat Oscar at 154, right?
He needs to clean out his division first before moving up like Manny is doing at welterweight. He should call out Felix Sturm and Daniel Geale. Leave the US to do it.
Re: WHOA! Sergio says Mayweather would last, but he'll knock Pacman Out.
I got no problem with the guy angling for a huge payday, but I am stunned that we seem to have only one quality fighter between 147 and 160. WTF is going on with my sport?
Has everyone opted to be a cornerback or a point guard?

Two. Paul Williams is still quality.

Then he caught himself, blushed, and added "Oh my... did I say Manny Pacquiao? Of course you all know I meant Floyd Mayweather."

Being the helpful guy that I am, I added what must've been the rest of Sergio's quote.
;)

Thats the problem, there are not many left his own size. At 160, maybe Strum, Cotto doesn't want that fight at 154 and Canelo is too green. At 168 all the noteworthy opponents are in the SS aside from Bute who is now Showtime, not sure when Martinez deal with Hbo is up. Like Marble said, not many options between 147-160. Maybe Kessler or Dirrell..?? I don't think we have to worry about it though, Mayweather and Pac want no part of Martinez.
Re: WHOA! Sergio says Mayweather would last, but he'll knock Pacman Out.
Martinez is another easy opponent for Pac. Floyd will also be too good for Martinez.
How I wish this fight would happen. Afterwards everyone will see how overrated Martinez is after a lucky punch on Williams.

I would love to see Cotto pull the upset in this. It would be fucking epic.
Purely because of his ridiciously high p4p rating I am starting to dislike him with his film star looks and his reckless 'look at me I don't need to defend I can just have my hands at my side and look cool' style.
Come on Miguel!!!
