The GoldenBoy Jorge Linares on Televisa this Saturday
Fransisco Cordero is a typical Colombian puncher with one loss on his record by the hands of Jorge Solis and Linares should have no problems with him.. After this, he's gunning for either Soto, Demarco, Kat or Guerrero as he plans to take over the lightweight division.
How many Linares fans do we have here??

He needs exposure and activity very badly and to get some forward progress. Nice fighter to watch.
Re: The GoldenBoy Jorge Linares on Televisa this Saturday
Teiken has been protecting him but now that he's being co-promoted by GBP, they plan to keep him active in the states.. Linares and co are ready for the big names after this tuneup..
Linares is the truth.. I dont think there are many fighters who can match his skills besides Marquez and Nonito.. Cod dam I love his style..
Re: The GoldenBoy Jorge Linares on Televisa this Saturday
I think he's the goods. Not sure how protected he was but getting freakishly sparked and mentions of injuries had to set him back big too. Glad he'll be stateside and seen.

Here's a good sparring session between Linares and the upcoming Argenis Mendez for those of you who havent seen it.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypVwbBQAkpg

IMO Linares Vs Guerrero at 135 would be a war

That's a mouth watering matchup! I dont think Guerrero is getting anywhere near the big names anytime soon so he should just worry about Linares, Rios, and Vazquez for now..
Linares/guerrero.. who wins?

i think Guerrero beats Rios by outboxing him all night to get the UD, and IMO if he steps up the pressure he'll be able to beat Soto by KO, i honestly still don't think anyone beats Marquez at 135, as for Linares/Guerrero, i say it's a toss up, maybe Linares' chin being the deciding factor, it'd all depend on how he'd be able to take Guerrero's punches

I agree with all of that especially about nobody beating Marquez. Infact, I dont think anybody below 147 beats Marquez, not even pacman..
I know some people question Linares' chin after that KO but I dont think it's fair to gauge his chin based on that loss. Linares was looking for Salgado's straight right hand so he miscalculated his defense and held his guard in a wrong position, leaving himself wide open for that left hook to the side of his chin.. Some punches will knock out anybody if landed flush regardless of how good their chin may be..
Re: The GoldenBoy Jorge Linares on Televisa this Saturday
Cordero is out due to visa issues so Adrian Verguo has stepped in.. 18-4-1 with 15 Kos..He lost to Benoit Gaudet and McGuiness by decision..
I just hope the fight doesnt end early from a cut because Verguo does have a habit of leading in head first.

oh i agree, im not saying that Linares has a glass chin, but well just the fact that he's been ko'd (in the 1st round no less) shows that he can be caught cold, and Guerrero being a lefty doesn't help lol, but it's a pretty even fight
