Just made watching the fight that bit more difficult...
Been working loads recently, really going for it and me and the mrs thought we should have a mini, cheap break somewhere with the kids.
Coincidentally a client of mine just told me about a fancy caravan he just bought at Butlins. So we're going to Butlins for a few days, not been since I was a kid (I'm sure most from the uk will have a vague memory of a Butlins trip), but it's almost ceremonial that I take my kids there at some point, might as well do it now.
Holiday runs Friday to Monday. Haye fight is on Saturday. Will they show it? Will a local pub show it? Will I get to watch it?
Not good
Re: Just made watching the fight that bit more difficult...
Ring ahead mate, the publican may know where its on. you maybe able to put in a few squids and sit in on it somewhere. Local gym would know who is buying it in too.
Re: Just made watching the fight that bit more difficult...
Depends who's showing the fight. You'll get Sky Sports there at a bar but I reckon you'll be having to leave site for a bit mate. Get the wife and kids tucked up and have a wander ;D

Spoke to Butlins, explained the importance of them showing the fight on the big screen, even offered to pay for it myself for everyone to enjoy. They are going to see what they can do!
I'm sure I could watch it on a laptop if needs be?

Absolutely. As long as they have wi-fi and it isn't throttled you'll be fine.
Re: Just made watching the fight that bit more difficult...
I dont think for a minute it will be as simple as handing over 15 quid and everybodies happy. If all else fails a laptop will do, I've watched fights over the net with a vodafone dongle in a pinch nd it worked alright although I did run out of credit 3/4 of the way through ;D
I still say you go out, watch some x-factor/Britains got Talent losers, take the wife and kids home and then go off site to a pub.
Re: Just made watching the fight that bit more difficult...
has anyone seen an actual approx time announced for this fight yet
its on HBO right ? If thats the case I can't see this being at 10pm, more like 1-2am like Haye v Maccarenelli was. In which case the pub option goes
I need to know the time so i can plan my day ! eg first beer

Re: Just made watching the fight that bit more difficult...
does that not mean the start of the programme though ?
I remember Sky used to say Saturday 12am for Vegas fights forgetting to mention it came on about 5 hours later.
Think they now at least say 2am - but can still be any time between 3.30 and 5 start time.
