Haye vs Wlad being billed as a fight between two of the best heavyweights ever...
in Australia. I just saw the ad for the PPV and they call it a fight between two of the best ever...are you fuckin kidding me? This just proves how gullible they think australian fans are. Fuck, im going to watch it for sure but being the boxing fan that I am there is no doubt in my mind Haye doesnt even rank in the top 200 of the best heavyweights of all time, hes had 3 fights against shit fighters. Main Event should be ashamed of themself for promoting this fight with that sentence.

I could give you a few that arguably did better than Haye in the CWD: Evander Holyfield,Carlos De Leon, Johnny Nelson, James Toney. Still, Haye has been a very good CW, I just don't think he has what it takes to beat either Wladimir or Vitali and the way to motivate Wladimir that much before the fight was definitely not his smartest tactical move.

Actually, I would tend to think that Adamek has some very good chances against Haye, would it be only because his stamina seems better and because he can throw a bigger volume of punches and damn, the polish is durable too.

thats 4 and even if they did do better than haye, that would put haye 5th and then he could be considered a top cruiser, even if you could name a couple more that did better being 6th or 7th would still make him a top cruiser. (IMO only evanda would have given him a fight)
Haye does have what it takes to beat wlad, he isnt favourite but he definately has the tools
i replied to the post suggesting he wasnt a top cruiser coz it seems to me that hayes personality has got to some boxing fans so much that they are unrealistic about the fight
they come out with crazy suggestions like on some threads i read on here, heres some recent examples - he doesnt have the power to trouble wlad, he would lose to chagaev and chambers, he wasnt a top cruiserweight, and the list goes on
Wlad is most definately the favourite going into the fight but haye has a very real chance of winning

That's simply ridiculous Erics44. Come on man. I can name many cruiserweights and even some that are currently active that have achieved more than Haye. Consider Steve Cunningham. He has achieved far more than Haye. His wins over Huck, Wlodarcyzk, and Guillermo Jones each are better than any single Haye win. Haye's reign at cruiserweight is overrated. His signature wins really are Fragomenni or Mormeck. Light heavyweight Erdei beat Fragomenni. Mormeck is just Mormeck, I don't need to say anything else.

how do we rate achievement in boxing?
pauli malinagi has been a light welter for years (alright he went down to lightweight for a bit and then up to welter now i think) and he won a world title a couple of times, khan has been there for 6 fights (or whatever), if he beats judah who has achieved more in teh division khan or malinagi?
steve cunnigham, been a cruiser for years, won the ibf title, very good fighter and very good in the division, david haye cruiserweight for 20 fights (or whatever) won the wba, wbc and wbo titles, considered the undisputed best in the division, who has achieved more?
doesnt it really matter who you think has the better names on their record?
