How far would you support your fighter?
He has a poor performance but wins against a good fighter?
He has a poor performance but wins against ordinary fighter?
He has a poor performance and loses against good fighter?
He has a poor performance and loses against ordinary fighter?
He gets knocked out and stopped?
He bites his opponent and gets disqualified and banned for 2 years from boxing?
He rapes a woman is convicted and imprisoned for 3 years?
Re: How far would you support your fighter?
As I've said before the last fighter I had a rooting interest in was Finito Lopez.
One thing I don't understand on forums like these is the need to defend a favorite against any charges of flaws.
Loyalty is not doing that. Loyalty is recognizing the flaws, conceding them and then STILL supporting your guy.

Bingo. Thats how I feel. My fighter clearly ducked another fighter? Ok, I can admit that, and its lame, but I'm not going to let that change my opinion of him.
Re: How far would you support your fighter?
Fully and a large degree of it means calling bullshite on them when its required. Excuses are a dime a dozen.
Re: How far would you support your fighter?
I've only ever really been fully behind Nigel Benn and Lennox Lewis in my 25 years or so as a fight fan.
I liked other fighters but was never really that bothered when they lost - with those two I was devastated. I like Haye too but the questions about how much he really wants to achieve from boxing mean I will never get behind him like I did with Benn and Lewis.
Was angry with lewis in his rahman defeat when he was truly a lazy bastard in preparation. And was gutted when Benn quit in his last two fights against Collins.
But I soon forgave them.
Cant imagine how I would feel being a massive Holyfield or Jones fan like I was with these two - how do you guys feel now about them still going and tarnishing their legacies.
Re: How far would you support your fighter?
That is another one to be added:-
He purposely avoids fighting the best in the division by paying them not to fight him.
