Re: So What Did We Learn?
Arreola couldn't stop an out of shape 39 year old man and some people think he can do it against Wlad. ;D;D Put him against Chambers or any other young and ranked heavyweight and you'll see him getting destroyed.
Re: So What Did We Learn?
Arreola says he hopes to fight again in 6-7 weeks. He really wants to stay busy, which is probably best for his weight issues.
Re: So What Did We Learn?
agree on the Cintron bit 100%, that's why i found it hilarious when guys were actually picking him to beat Cotto if they ever fought, and those who hinted at Cotto "avoiding" taking on a tough fight against Kermit
as for the other dude commenting on Arreola not being able to stop his opponent, well Vitali took like 10 rounds to finally get a stoppage, no way in hell that guys like Chambers will stop Arreola
Re: So What Did We Learn?
It's a shame, 'cause Kermit has/had all the talent in the world, along with hellacious power. Last night was a sad spectacle, and at 31, he really does need to hang them up.

Probably a good thing for Arreola to go ten rounds. I really do think he might be as viable an opponent for Wlad as there is right now. Now here's to hoping he stays busy. How about getting on the Vitali-Adamek undercard somehow?
-Rico Ramos was getting absolutely schooled for six and half rounds. Then two left hooks and it is over. In a different style it reminded me a lot of Manny P and Chachai Sasakul. Manny lost every minute of every round and looked really bad until Saskul slowed a little and WHAMO! Ramos showed plenty of nerve, but he's got a lot of work to do.
-I think the word is REALLY overused, but this fight deserves it. Robbery. I had it 7-5 Lara and that was giving Williams every round I had marked close. I cannot think of a sixth round he might have won. Much easier for me to justify a 9-3 fight than a draw. The HBO team scoring was way too wide in my view, but I thought they had the right guy winning. PW is courageous, fit, gutsy, determined, tough, dumb and poorly trained. Lara fought a tactically excellent fight I thought. He landed probably the 25 hardest punches of the night before you'd get to a PW shot. PW should find some orthodox fighters to fight. Lara should fight a guy like Angulo now.
The Showtime Card
-I mean to take nothing away from Carlos Molina. But you know what Kermit Cintron discovered on his year off? That he really didn't like fighting. He showed no determination or desire. Time to pack it in Kermit. Molina showed an abundance of both along with some pretty slick moves on the inside. Molina did what many fighters today fail to do. When he got close? He stayed close. He's a handful for any of the 147's except probably Manny and Floyd.
Good on Arreola for staying busy, other then the Klitschko bros, I'd give him a shot at beating all of the other HW contenders, including that douche, princess HAREmaker, who's too much of a pussy to fight him.
Cintron may as well retire, after last night, i've lost any interest I had in him, seriously, at this point, who the fuck could he beat at the top level, nada.
P.S. Rios is fun to watch, I look forward to seeing him again.

He would beat Adamek too, right? As soon as he begins to fight young hungry boxers his status will be tomato can.
Re: So What Did We Learn?
Roy Jones has a serious multi personality disorder and needs to be reigned in on the Mic.

I don't think he is likely to beat Wlad. But he'd fight hard all the way...which is more than I'm willing to say about the rest of the top ten (sans Adamek) at this point.

Hey, he's entertaining! Both of him!

Cintron has always been one of those "million dollar body, five cent head" kind of guys.

Hold-up a minute. I think you're being a little inconsistent here.
You've spent weeks shitting all over David Haye, yet here you are praising a fighter for a) actually trying to get fit and b) going 10 rounds with a "tough guy." You class certain "world" champions as "journymen," right? Ahuanya, who has never beaten a fighter of note, and is clearly not close to the top ten heavyweights let alone a potential world champion, is a "tough" fighter?
Your view is the complete opposite of which Arreola himself has stated. Which highlights just how unreliable it is to form an opinion about something we haven't actually WITNESSED.
Arreola said about his performance (paraphrasing) - I was shit. I was hurt. I am not ready for Wlad. I need more fights.

very true, but last night it looked like Cintron's body wasn't there. His punches were damn slow. He had no timing. All the heart in the world wouldn't have helped as his body was moving in slow motion.

And i am surprised its coming from an intelligent poster like marbleheadmaui who knows his boxing very good (from the great posts he made in here). WTF Arreola and Wlad just don't go in the same sentence. It wouldn't be human to put them in the ring together.

Badr Hari.
I remember watching Alexey Ignashov kick your ass.
