Amir Khan against southpaws
Khan has never fought an elite southpaw.. Do you think he'll see the straight lefts and uppercuts?
He does spar pacman but it is what it is.. sparring..
Re: Amir Khan against southpaws
Judah is not a elite southpaw.
Martinez, Pacquiao are elite southpaws.
Judah is a good southpaw, certainly better than what Khan has ever faced and chances are he will cause him problems with his left hand and southpaw stance.
Khan will win though, Judah always fades.
Re: Amir Khan against southpaws
One doesn't become undisputed WW champion by just being a " good " southpaw..
Zab may be inconsistent but he does have special talent and there's no doubt that he's an elite southpaw when he puts it all together. smh..

He beat one fighter ( Cory Spinks, overrated) to earn the undisputed welterweight championship, it's not like he went through the division and won the title one by one. He only defended that undisputed title once against a bum.
He didn't defend all his titles next fight because Baldomir didn't pay santion fees. Judah went on to lose to Baldomir who is a journeymen meaning his other belts became vacant.
He won the undisputed title 6 years ago by the way, 6 years is a long time ago in boxing.
A fighter who loses to Baldomir is not an elite fighter.
He was a good southpaw then, and has only got worse since.
Re: Amir Khan against southpaws
You're right of course, it is only sparring. But with a talent like Pacquiao coming at you don't you either learn to see those shots or Freddy pulls you out? I mean if he's just fodder for Manny, why waste Manny's time?
I think Judah will put Kahn to a stiff test for 7-8 rounds. But Zab has always reminded me of Fast Eddie Felsen and the way George C Scott describes him prior to the girl killing herself in the Hustler.

All of the above.
Re: Amir Khan against southpaws
Based on that analogy, anybody who loses to Breidis Prescott ( Via KO1 lol ) can't be considered as an elite fighter either. If ya think Zab is some B level fighter, then this is a battle between TWO B level guys..
Anybody who boxes would clearly understand that Zab is an elite southpaw. It's not even debatable.
Re: Amir Khan against southpaws
Aside from sparring, he fought Mario Kindelan three times in the amateurs. I happen to think he lost all three, but in none of them did he look like a guy who struggled with leftys. The issue in the McCloskey fight was that McCloskey used tactics that made Haye against Wlad look like Paul Williams.

when was his last good win? If Judah is elite when was his last win against another elite fighter?

I never said Khan was a elite fighter, not yet anyway.
Khan's loss to Prescott happened early in his career where Judah was a experienced champion who lost to a journeymen. Judah was at his best then, while Khan was a prospect. Poor comparison.
Judah's best win in his career is his win over Spinks. That doesn't shout out a elite fighter to me.
"Elite" southpaws don't get destroyed by Miguel Cotto either. They beat his ass and stop him in 12 ( Pacquiao). ( No disrespect to Cotto as he is a good fighter.)
Judah was never a elite southpaw, especially not now.

Judah has never beaten a elite fighter. He was competitive with Floyd for 2-3 rounds if that counts

Manny Pacquiao is not an elite southpaw, he is way above that. Judah is "ELITE" he is a 2 weight multiple time world champion who has had his ups and downs in his career. I truly believe he will be Khans biggest test to date and I would not be surprised if he beats Khan.
