Sweetpea by UD, I say he takes about 8 of the rounds.
Whitaker 12-0, 11-1.
Pernell by default and pure ownage...and I like Kostya as a fighter.
Yeah I can't imagine Tszyu actually winning, near shut out for Whittaker imo.
This is one of those "Let me see if I can find the worst possible matchup for a guy in history" kinds of things.
How does Kostya win rounds let alone win? Chavez was a far more active and varied puncher and a pressure guy and he got dominated. Azumah was far quicker of both hand and foot and he couldn't hit Pete.
Kostya like to fight at a measured pace, a measured distance etc. Pete would never let him do either.
Pete moves to his right, Kostya's left, all night long and dares him to try to win the fight with his jab and his hook.
Now is it possible Kostya lands the huge right that changes things? I suppose, but he didn't hit any harder than Tito and even a coked out Pete hung in there that night for twelve rounds.
9-3, 10-2 something like that.
I should officially cancel this thread because everyone sees things the way I see them and that's no fun. I don't want this to turn into a Tsyzu bashing thread though because he is a fave of mine.....but that being said he couldn't touch Pea IMO, at least not enough to hurt him.
Ya, no disrespect to Tszyu, but if you're looking for someone at 135-140 who could've seriously threatened and/or beaten Whitaker, you need to go to a much higher level of fighter than Tszyu was.
Duran, Pryor, Pacquiao, etc.

Have so and I answered before i saw this post. I think you will find it is a fair and thought out post too. He is my favourite fighter but I dont think he can beat everyone and I also defend him when he is being sold short.Quote:

I almost feel bad for Kostya. But it's true, for such a measured fighter to get the measure of someone who is a whole level better than you is just impossible.
