Has anybody ever hacked your email?

This is a quite serious thread. I tried logging into my Yahoo account a number of days ago, but found my password wasn't working. I thought it was a glitch and changed my password. But it happened several times. I tried changing my security questions, it didn't help. I lost my password and then Yahoo asked me my original questions. I tried wrestling with the hacker but they beat me everytime and I eventually deleted my email. I had to do it after weird emails were sent to friends of mine, I clearly didn't write them and was not actually home at the point of being sent.

So my question is, have you ever experienced this before?

I'm okay now, but it has been a pretty tough experience. Honestly, a complete war and I just had to give up in the end and just close the account. It seems there is someone out there that found a way in and was interested enough to try and cause some personal problems by sending out mail that wasn't actually from me.

Sure, calling me a cunt is nice. Even my hacker fell short of that, so I guess it was nobody on here.

as per the e-mail, it's pretty standard miles. you really need to change your PWs regularly and keep a variety of them for diff aaccts. try not to have too many of them the same either cuz sometimes u lose all your shit. i've lost so many e-mails its not even funny. my facebook gets hacked ALL the time. 9/10 posts on it aren't even from me it gets hacked so much.

Haha, cheers for the advice my little comrade. Nah, not so bothered about the cunt thing really, I've started chilling out more again after getting worked up a bit too much about things recently. I had that nonsense going on for a good 10 days and was getting frustrated. Generally speaking I'm a sensitive type as you know, but I'm hardening again now.

received a spam mail from my brother's hotmail account just this morning and texted him about it. i knew his acct. got hacked coz the same thing has happened to two female friends just last month sending similar spam mails with their yahoo acct. thru yahoogroup. i don't know if they were able to resolve it though.

Email clearly isn't secure and I contacted Yahoo customer services and they didn't even reply. None of these providers seem to care about their services. Email is open to anyone really. Very dodgy.

I get many spam emails from clients of mine, I have hundreds if not thousands of client email addresses now and every so often I'll get a spam email from one of them about some sort of shop.

It seems the only way to stop it is to change your password to something very strong. Mix up capitals and numbers. Once it's changed, the junk emails stop.

Some tech guy said generally they arent in there reading your mail, it's an automated bot system that sends emails from another program as you.

I use the same passwords for everything, but emails etc, ultra tough passwords.

In my situation this person sent a hate email. Actually, no it was another after I decided to fight the hacker. This person had a personal agenda against me.

I wouldn't mind if it was nothing, but to get evil with someone I know?

That is odd, it was obviously a targeted attack then.

Changing your email account is probably a blessing in disguise anyway. Bit like changing your phone number, you worry at first at a massive inconvenience, but then actually it turns our no one cares! ;D

post the hate e-mail miles. copy and paste that bitch up in here then we can detective work it.
