We always hear questions about who had the best left hook or jab etc.......but who had the best uppercut or should I say who was the best at setting up the uppercut?

MARQUEZ even throws lead uppercuts with regularity.. He's truly the greatest Mexican fighter of all time.

It's boring and predictable but Lennox Lewis had a hell of an uppercut. It took the heart out of Holyfield and Vitali after they got hit with it. George Foreman in his comeback trail also threw some sickening uppercuts in his time, Gerry Cooney was one that sticks in my mind.
I think the uppercut is an under-used weopon, I have no idea why people don't use it more often.
You see in fights all the time where people are so open to uppercuts, I'm screaming at the TV sometimes and they never throw them.
Mike McCallum wasnt to shabby
yeah Marquez is a great shout with that counter left uppercut. Don't think i've seen anyone do it quite like the way he does it.
Tyson had a wicked right uppercut too.
But my wildcard goes to Bika. The only man I can think of who regularly throws rear-hand uppercuts from the outside let alone it being done with a relative degree of success!
George Foreman he did lift Joe Frazier off his feet with an uppercut, Larry Holmes also had a good uppercut too see his fight vs Mike Weaver.

Hamed came from near ground level with his.
Tyson tight close full leg lift.
But you know, the one Buster caught Tyson with, beat all of Tysons ones!
Donovan 'Razor' Ruddock had a good one, he blasted Dokes out with it.
How about Bute for current boxers?
Nigel Benn had a vicious uppercut.
Ricardo Lopez.
As we have seen on this forum a number of times, Tyson Fury.
George Foreman had one of the best uppercuts.
Marquez uses the uppercut very effectively now because guys like Diaz and Kastidis lean so far forward. Just like in Holyfield/Moorer II, when Moorer leaned forward with his gloves around his face when they were in close. When inside, turn your shoulder. And when you throw an uppercut, turn that punch so the index and middle knuckles land.
James Toney had an excellant uppercut.
'Smokin' Bert Cooper had a good one!
Basically anyone who uses a shoulder roll will eventually HAVE to counter the right cross with an uppercut: Toney, Mayweather, Holyfield they all have very useful uppercuts maybe not the flashiest but they get the job done.
Foreman has been mentioned a couple times, he put Cooney to sleep with an uppercut.
Tyson used his well both left and right handed.
