Yes I read it was cancelled, but this article was posted after the article saying the fight was cancelled, so I'm hoping that it may be back on IF they find a replacement opponent such as a Petereson brother, Juan Urango, or Bailey type.
But, true it is probably off for good.

Maidana says that he wants a tune up fight, probably in Argentina in mid September, before fighting Khan (if he accepts ) or rematching Morales. I think he is going to be disappointing seeing how Khan will be the one fighting Morales towards the end of the year.

That happens all the time. Reports are the Hamed paid a ton of cash to Marquez, and, for a while, Michael Moorer made more money stepping aside than he did fighting.

No injury, I reckon maidana payed off Guerero step aside money, so he can become the WBA champ becus I have moved up as WBa super champ.
Guys I was messing around about the injury of Guerero, apologies for the tweet, I'm sure he didn't get paid step side money,
