Galota was so unpredictable, then again Hasim was not the most consistent, so who ever turned up at their best, which would be ........Hasim. :-\
couldnt agree more. but i think Andrew had the size and power advantage and a slight boxing skill edge. Rahman was good, but sometimes unimpressive. i go with Golota by hematoma in round 9.
The Golota that fought Bowe beats any version of Rahman imo.
Rahman is trash.. Of all the out of shape modern heavies, I dislike him the most..

Other than that, both men are so up and down it's really difficult to be 100% for/ against either man.
It was a great fight one of the better Heavyweight fights of recent times, don't forget Hasim Rahman was clearly beating David Tua in there 1st meeting, and did deserve the decision in the rematch. Plus most obviously he did KO Lennox Lewis, i think he has the power to stop Andrew Golota late on.Quote:

I gotta go with Rahman in a not so entertaining fight. He could slow down a match, was turdy and could pop and for as strong as Golota was he melted when in a major fight one way or another, save for the Ruiz go which was prob his most complete effort.
I'd have to go with Golota if he could hold it together

I agree about the Byrd fight too. Byrd appeared to fight like a bit of a girl in some ways but was really not even a cruiserweight so was all heart really and skill wise was better than most. Golota gave him a good fight though and was desperately unlucky not to get a win. I think this is the reason that he started to get that label as the guy who just kept getting title shots, because you knew he'd either had been robbed, self imploded or was likely to get KTFO ;D

The Byrd fight was good and easily could of taken nod yeh but hey, you can't beat seeing Ruiz get knocked on his ass and have legs like wet boot laces for a sec. Not to mention Norm Stone practically shitting himself while his head turned a bright red while getting tossed out ;D
The 100% surefire way to beat Golota was to jump on him early: Lewis, Tyson, Brewster. Rahman had the power to hurt Golota, but was always gun shy. I pick a Split Decision either way. It would have been an interesting match though.
Man talk about two guys with good HW size and some natural talent that couldn't get their act together. I think Andrew might be the more talented fighter but if you are saying peak vs peak I gotta go with Rahman. Rahman being unmotivated, inconsistent and lazy is not at his peak but Golota simply didn't have the intestinal fortitude when things got rough. The Grant fight is a great example of him fighting a great fight, taking a hard shot and falling apart. Prime v Prime I think this is a very entertaining match with Golota looking good early and Rahman rallying in the 7-9 rounds for a TKO. So pretty much the Grant vs Golota fight all over again.
