Arm injurie
I been preparing myself for a bout in 8 weeks time. Stepped up the sparring now but everytime I take a shot on my left glove the jolt of the blow sends a terrible Sharp pain in the inside of where the arm bends. Has anyone else suffered with this and what's the action you took??

Re: Arm injurie
Do you train your biceps a lot? Sounds like it could be an inflamed tendon.

I don't do any weights just all the strength training press ups pull ups ect. It hurt after my last fight So I rested it for a month and just concentrated on cardio. back on it now with a fight 8 weeks away but it hasnt improved at all. Don't know whether to train through it and risk further damage or drop out of the fight which I really don't want

Re: Arm injurie
Could be you have problems in your upperback, muscles around the upper 4th and 5th vertebrae have tightened causing problems with the arm. Causing neurophysical problems with the Elbowhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqxzN18rcV0 alittle thing you could try

You know what that makes perfect sense seeing as I'm always gettin problems and trapped nerves around the shoulder blades area/upper ribs due to my physical job. What do you think about still training?? Thanks I'll give that a go

Re: Arm injurie
One thing I am is a fanatic on my fighters ignoring injuries. True most of them can be cured with time, heat, massage, changing technique, etc. But, your write up describes a sharp pain that happens when you hit, and it has not cleared up, even after laying off training. I would insist that you go to a doctor that specializes in sports medicine...not a regular MD. You never want to take the chance of injuring something beyond recovery. I have seen to many former fighters with bad elbows, shoulders, wrists, and hands, that were ignored, masked with pain killers, and urged to fight on by trainers who were either ignorant, or did not care.
A fighter is like a machine --- he has to be well maintained and cared for. People will rush their car to a garage and mechanic when they here a funny noise, but ignore their own health when their body is sending them a message.
Post a note and lets us all know what you find out.

Even if you dont want to postpone this fight you might have too, you body comes first. And what has already been said is that your body is sending you a message, get it checked out and then take it from there.
