Should B-Hop still be Ring magazine champ?
I think so, his fight with Dawson was a farce. Whoever says B-Hop was knockout must be on drugs . Since when can a fighter ko another fighter with a tackle? For me this fight is a NC
Re: Should B-Hop still be Ring magazine champ?
It will all depend on what the commision do.
They will hopefully rule a no decision so nothing will change on the rankings front.
I presume Dawson has the belt now though. Will they send a delivery van around to get it back off him?

Yes, the fight should be changed to a no contest and also Hopkins' reputation should take a big hit.

I heard one of the TV analyst say that the commission can not overturn a referee's decision. But the WBC can. It has done so in the Francisco Lorenzo vs Humberto Soto fight.

As far as anyone is concerned, the champ is still Hopkins. There is too much physical evidence meaning the film of the event. Forget there was a referee because he was nothing but an empty suit and so far if it was a disease that struck referees this year let's call it an epidemic if stupidity.

that's bullshit, the decision for the Bradley/Campbell fight was overturned to a NC same as this one should be and that wasn't for the WBC strap

You and Bilbo are right and the TV analyst is wrong.
Then there are 2 bodies who can overturn the result to a no contest which increases the possibility that it might happen.

I have no idea actually. I mean it does happen that a cut can be overruled, but not sure about a KO. There was no reversal of the Agbeko Mares fight, even though Mares only won because he got awarded a 10-8 round for punching someone in the nuts. All logic to me says that round must be rescored 10-9 to Agbeko or even 10-8 to him with Mares losing a point for the foul but that was never even considered.
I guess they would have to rule it a foul on the part of Dawson to make it a no decision. If they review it and just see it as a boxing incident, I.e Hopkins fell, not Dawsons fault, then the result will stand.
I really have no idea which way they will go. I'm leaning towards a forced immediate rematch rather than changing the title result though. I hope they rule in Hopkins favour though...
Re: Should B-Hop still be Ring magazine champ?
Toney/ Rahman was originally ruled a tko then over ruled. This will be too.
