When Bernard gets his belt back should he give Dawson a rematch ?
I say NO.
After the way Dawson behaved, fuck him.
He won't give Bernard a rematch, so once this is overturned and ruled a No Contest and Bernard retains his title, I say he should look at fighting Toney if he wins or someone more deserving and respectful than Dawson.
I understand Dawson was heated, I would be too, but to act like that. Fuck that.

So you are in the minority that believe this TKO "win" will stand ?
Shaw has already said even if the WBC mandates a rematch they won't obey it and will give up the belt.
So either way Dawson is losing that belt he "won".

I hope Hopkins hangs them up. I saw the fight differently to be honest. Going into the fight, I thought Hopkins would eek out a decision although I admit going back and forth, but after seeing the body language of the two, I believe Hopkins fought the first person since Calzaghe that he couldn't manipulate mentally. I like Dawson in a rematch. I believe Hopkins was trying to pull one of those moves that he uses to take off 5 minutes. In his last few fights, it seems that he finds a way to take 5 minutes off every fight. Hopkins got what was coming to him.

Hopkins was controlling Dawson and making him fight at his tempo, and apparently he did affect Dawson mentally hence the throwdown, the fake tantrum afterwards, and the weak refusal to give a "rematch", simply put Dawson became a bitch overnight and just managed to put a nice shit streak on his camera friendly "good guy" image, so much for backing him up against Pascal in a rematch

Whatever the commision decide a rematch clause will be automatically enforced on both parties I should imagine.
If they rule it a no decision and give Hopkins his belt back he will have to defend it against Dawson immediately I'd guess.
I'm not entirely sure they will reverse the decision however. I mean Joseph Agbeko was deliberately fouled and got a knockdown counted against him which lost him his title. A rematch was mandated but the decision stood...

Hey great post Elfinito, that's very insightful as usual. I don't like Hopkins either and couldn't care less that he lost in general, but that pretty well had to be ruled a No Contest at the worst, stop trolling.
I honestly don't care to see a rematch one bit having said that, fight looked like it was going to be a stinker all the way through and Hopkins legs look half gone to me. Dawson apparently just has Zab Judah syndrome or something, one of those mental cases I suspect.

I don't believe it's the commission who will decide on that but the WBC.
I think it's best for Hopkins to retire whether he gets the belt back or not.

It doesn't seem like this will get overturned, under the circumstances however, a rematch might get ordered, but Dawson will still be the Champ.
I'm much more on Chad's side in this controversy then I am Hop's, that's just the way I feel.
